I am a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus in American Politics. I also have a minor in Afro-American studies. Since my Junior year in high school, I have been a volunteer tutor, tutoring students of all ages from Kindergarten to High School. Throughout my four years at UCLA, I volunteered with two mentoring programs, working with students in grades 5-12. I tutor a wide variety of subjects including all K-8 Math, English and Reading. I also tutor high school English, American History and Government, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Spanish 1-3. While I tutor many subjects, my favorites are Math and History. I have come across many students who have struggled with Math and it brings me great joy to help a student finally understand a concept that they otherwise would not have been able to understand. When tutoring, I like to get to know my students and learn their personal learning styles. With an understanding of a student’s learning style, I like to cater my tutoring approach to a way that they can best understand. I have always been committed to education and since I can remember, I have always wanted to become a middle school teacher. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, having small barbecues or hanging out at the park. I also love hiking and going to the movies.
