I graduated from Binghamton University in 2012, summa cum laude with a B.A. in Chemistry. My strengths are in Chemistry and as well as Algebra. I have tutored both individuals and student groups, primarily in General Chemistry at Binghamton for the past three years and Organic Chemistry for the past two. Additionally for two years, I served as a Teacher’s Assistant for Organic Chemistry and was responsible for facilitating student group assignments. I taught the students general study skills and how to simplify intricate content so that they can improve their grades over time. I believe it is important to assess the needs of the student whether it is teaching them test-taking skills, fundamentals of a subject or building their confidence to succeed. Each aspect contributes to a student’s understanding. It is an integral part of my job to set a plan for students to follow, and implement it in a way specific to their needs.
Over the years, I have developed a passion for the subjects I tutor. I not only teach the students the subject matter, but why it is important to their overall knowledge. I’ve enjoyed every moment of my past tutoring experience and feel rewarded by my students’ success.
