I believe that strong tutoring from an experienced tutor comes from a body of knowledge on the subject areas that the tutor has created over the years. As for myself, I have been tutoring since 2006 in English, literature, writing skills, creative writing, reading skills, ELA, and ESL. I have built the knowledge for these subject areas and with ease can impart this knowledge to my students. I am also a kind and patient tutor, and think that's very important qualities when building a strong rapport with my students. Also, I am very compassionate towards and understanding of my students. Finally, I have a Master's in Fine Arts degree is Creative Writing from California College of the Arts and am also an experienced creative writing editor and mentor.

I believe every student is capable of success. My job as a tutor is to build foundations and develop strategies that ensure that success.I work with K-8 students developing skills, strategies, and knowledge that will help them become independent learners. My focus as a tutor is to help my students understand the concepts behind a skill. I believe that when you really understand how or why something works, you will never forget that skill.I enjoy tutoring a variety of subjects, but my favorites are writing and math. I see them both as opportunities to build creativity and problem solving skills, which I believe are essential to success throughout life.
