I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and have experience with both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Creative writing is a passion of mine, and I love showing people just how creative they can be. I am extremely patient and understanding. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn, even things as daunting as drawing or painting with no prior experience!
I was previously employed at California State University, Long Beach as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for General Microbiology lecture and laboratory courses. My master's thesis research in Peter Ramirez's Lab focused on HIV-1 accessory protein interactions with human intrinsic restriction factors and how these factors may also contribute to SARS-CoV-2 virus-like particle infectivity. Currently, I am working towards obtaining a doctorate degree in biomedical science within the Virology and Gene Therapy track at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. I am a soon to be graduate of California State University, Long Beach where I study and will receive a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering. During my time studying, I have worked at East Los Angeles College for 4 years teaching a wide range of Mathematics to the students there. I would work with students in private sessions and, on occasion, lead a study group for students enrolled in the same class. I believe the private sessions were more effective because they focused on each student's individual issue, and all students have their own way of learning. I enjoy working with all types of math problems, but the subject I have the most fun with is Trigonometry, as it pushes the student to think creatively in solving the problem. Outside of academics, I like listening to Alternative Rock or Electric Dance Music. I also enjoy playing random sports, hiking, video games, and playing with my cat.
