I am an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh studying Microbiology, Chemistry, and Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. I graduate at University of Tennessee at Martin. I have a bachelor's degree in Management and a minor in Finance. The reasons I am so passionate about helping students are mostly because a lot of students that I have taught in the past expressing their love for this language. My job was mainly helping the students with homework and their speaking skills. I am able to speak three languages French and creole which are my primary languages and English. I can teach beginners, intermediate, and anyone that is interesting in learning French. During my time studying at UTM I had a scholarship to go study in France for a month where I had the privilege to meet students from all over the world and learn about different cultures.

I am a third-year economics major at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I am from the Washington, D.C. area and attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. My liberal arts education has provided me with a strong core curriculum, allowing me to not just limit my studies to economics. Economics courses have allowed me to continually increase my mathematical knowledge, whether that be in applying calculus to economic situations or understanding statistics at the business level. I am very skilled at math and have confidence in teaching all grade levels. I attribute my personal success in taking the ACT to a tutor, inspiring me to join the Varsity Tutors team. I have experience with many standardized tests, but I specialize in ACT and SSAT test preparation. My ability to effectively work with all ages allows me to intellectually grow. I am a passionate writer and understand the pressure students face in writing college application essays. My experience with college essays comes not only from helping students, but also writing essays for multiple schools when I was applying to college. I currently work as a research scientist at a biomedical research institute.My flair for peer tutoring is the result of retrospection, a gift of my introverted nature. I have realized that there are many concepts across various subjects that I did not fully grasp at the time I was learning them. However, a couple of months and even years after taking those classes, when I finally connected the dots, there are a couple of ways I wish those concepts would have been explained to me. Sometimes I also wish that I would have thought to ask certain questions.As a peer tutor, I hope to prompt you to ask those questions and help you connect those dots so that the learning process can be more fulfilling and enjoyable. Standardized tests do not have to be fearsome mountains either. They can be an exciting experience to demonstrate your knowledge if you understand the concepts. My experience in tutoring comes from my participation in my high school's Math Honor Society, where I tutored students in subjects spanning from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. I was also a part of the Science Honor Society, where I mainly tutored chemistry and physics.
