As an educator with a Ph.D. in Psychology from National University and over 5 years of tutoring experience, I am deeply committed to helping students excel in subjects such as AP Psychology, AP Statistics, and Business Statistics. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment tailored to each student's unique needs. I graduated from National University in San Diego with my MA in history, and have been teaching history at the AP, IB, and college level since 2015. As an AP World History teacher, I helped students to better prepare for the essays, especially the Document Based Question through the analysis of both documents and visual images. I believe that so much of student success on the AP and IB history exams comes down to understanding the question, what's being asked and how it's being asked. Beyond the immediate benefit of AP and IB classes and testing, with the possibility of earning college credit, comes the realization that students can be empowered to explore the world and to understand their places within it.

I have a Master's Degree in Education. I hold 6 teaching credentials in the State ofCalifornia. My clear credential is in K-6. My expertise is teaching the basics. Basic English writing and reading. However, my greatest skill lies in teaching basic math.I am a retired school teacher, when I started working at Harmony Elementary School in Los Angeles in September of that year, the school was 89% far below basic in their math skills.There are different skill levels created for understanding student's math skills. Basic students have a basic understand of arithmetic, below basic students are having a hard time understanding math concepts, far below basic students don't understand anything about math. Many can't count!At the end of year, in June, Harmony Elementary was one of highest scoring schools in California in math. It was because of me that the math scores changed so dramatically. Just because I don't have a video concerning the other subjects, it doesn't mean I am not just as good when teaching basic writing and reading. I have taught English at the high school level and have been a writing tutor at the college level. I am a retired Air Force officer; currently, I am a full-time graduate student in Social Work, with a goal of working with veterans.I have a BA in Philosophy, and Master's degrees in Aeronautical Science, International Relations, Strategy Development, and English (soon to add Social Work to the list!), but my true passion is literature. I have found reading and writing about great works to be one of the most personally fulfilling ways to spend one's time, so I am very excited to work with students who are on their own journeys of self-discovery and skills development!

Working as a professional educator for 11 years has given me the opportunity to touch many lives and make an important impact on children and their futures. I currently teach all levels of Spanish at LaRue County High School in Hodgenville, Kentucky. I have 26 years of teaching experience in the public education system from teaching elementary age children to high school students. I enjoy teaching sentence structure and grammar in Spanish to help the Spanish learner figure out how to transfer that skill into a conversation in Spanish. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of San Diego in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Spanish, and earned a Master of Science in Special Education with a specialty in teaching children with mild to moderate disabilities from National University also in San Diego. Currently I am working towards National Board Certification in Early Adolescent through Young Adulthood - World Languages emphasis in Spanish.

With associate degrees in Math, Physical Science, and Life Sciences, a BS in Biology, and an M.Ed. in Teaching Mathematics, I am passionate about fostering a dynamic, interdisciplinary approach to education. For over a decade, I have taught students in grades 3-12, creating inclusive, engaging spaces where critical thinking thrives and connections between subjects come to life. Education is my calling, and as I pursue an MS in Biology with a concentration in policy making, I strive to inspire students to see the profound interconnectedness of knowledge and its impact on the world.

I have been working in the area of Education since college, and have had private and corporate tutoring experience. For the majority of my professional career I worked for Pearson Education, the largest Educational publisher in the country. There I worked alongside teachers and professors to help write and develop some of today's most cutting edge educational texts and technology. While working at Pearson, I continued to consistently tutor after working hours and on the weekends, and continued to do so after leaving Pearson. I have experience tutoring in all areas of the English language, including ESL, essay writing, SAT reading and writing sections, general reading comprehension and all facets of the writing process.
