I am a graduate of Pomona College, where I majored in Neuroscience. I am preparing to apply to medical school and hope to continue working with kids as a pediatrician.I have over 7 years of tutoring and mentoring experience, working with students from 2nd to 12th grade. I am passionate about working with students and being able to connect with them as a near-peer. My goal is to help each and every student I work with find the academic subject that sparks their passion for learning. I ultimately got my BA in Mathematics with a minor in Education. My plan was to finish college and go immediately into teaching high school math. As it turned out, that didn't happen. I got side-tracked and, enjoying math so much, I stuck around UVA for another two years and earned a MS in Math. I then got drafted by the NSA and did cyptopgraphy for a few years. Now I'm back on (the education) track. I've been teaching math and statistics at ITT-Tech for a few years and, so far, I've taught two sections of college algebra at El Camino Community College. I've also been tutoring math since high school. When I attended Central Virginia Community College, I worked in the math lab, administering tests and tutoring fellow students. I prefer to tutor algebra, statistics, or calculus, but any level of math is fine as well.
