I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics/ Astrophysics from Morehead State University. During my last three years at MSU, I had a work study position as a tutor. I tutored all levels of math and physics, as well as introductory astronomy and chemistry. My job allowed me to work with students on the subjects that I love! During this time, I learned that I have a passion for teaching and helping others. Once I graduated, I took a summer teaching position, but I found that my true calling is tutoring. I believe a teacher's job is to present the necessary information to students, while a tutor's job is to help students understand and use that information. So, I decided to become a private online tutor, which has been my career for the last two years. My favorite part of tutoring is when there is a particularly difficult problem, and my student and I can reach a "Eureka!" moment together. My goal is to work with students to both build their skill level and to build their self-confidence. Making mistakes is part of the learning process, and my tutoring sessions are judgement free. Outside of tutoring, I love knitting, crochet, and other crafts! I also enjoy reading when I have the time.
