Hi, I'm Chloe, and I tutor English, reading, writing, and AP Literature. I'm a recent Seattle University graduate with exceptional teaching skills. I believe in the power of critical thinking, analytical writing and close reading. My teaching philosophy is that all pupils are capable of unique perspectives and ideas, and that writing is the key to unlocking any person's academic potential. Writing is an imperative element of professional life, and teaching a student to write articulately, compellingly and clearly is essential to success!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I firmly believe all students and pupils have creative and unique minds that are capable of extreme excellence. No matter how uninterested or difficult the student may find writing and reading, they are qualified to process complex literary theory, and communicate that thinking clearly and effectively. In my years of tutoring, I've discovered that reading books with students opens my mind to the various ways that words can be read and interpreted. My teaching philosophy is thus to encourage abstract thinking and critical applications through the student's other academic and personal talents and through their individuality. Teaching reading and writing is about encouraging other's academic and creative processes without the limitations of any strict formula.
