The student chose to write his spelling words as a how-to paragraph. He included all words including his challenge words. He needed some reminders to capitalize the first letter. Next he chose to work on his vocabulary. He picked a word. He told me the definition and then used it in a sentence. Lastly we made flashcards for the geography maps. We also drew maps that demonstrate the purpose.

On Monday the student and I prepped for his test on Tuesday. He had a review packet and we were able to work through all of it. The test was on quadrilaterals and their properties. He had a good grip on how to use shapes' properties and algebra to find missing angles which was the majority of the work. He was pretty focused during the session and I think we made good progress to prepare for the test.

Tutoring review by Reyanna in West Paterson, NJ
The student's homework assignment wasn't too hard. She has been having trouble with the word problems that her teacher has been assigning, so we went ahead and did a few samples together to understand the process. It had to do with creating an inequality from the information given in the problem. She and I practiced with problems in her notes, and she started to understand how to solve them. She told me that she has problems with the homework assignments that she has in between our sessions, where I am not there to check her answers. I told her that she is free to text me if she has any questions, and I would be more than happy to help her.
