I graduated from the University of Southern California in May of 2014 with a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Health Promotion. Since graduation, I have been applying to medical schools with the intention of becoming a student starting Fall of 2015. Over the last four years, I have worked in educational programs for middle school kids and have privately tutored students at USC in Introductory Biology. I can tutor math and science subjects of all levels for students from 4th-12th grade as well as the SAT. Biology and History are my favorite and strongest subjects as I enjoy the memorizing and understanding of large amounts of information. I enjoy helping students find a solid, consistent method of learning material through the repetition of problems approached in different ways to gain a better understanding of topics. The promotion of preventive health is my passion and I love to integrate my love for health and science in my teaching. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, reading books and watching movies.

I've been a data fanatic from an early age my high school Math League won state competitions (so you can say I'm a Mathlete!). I have also been known to associate street patterns to functions and derive equations to pass time. More importantly, I've worked as a math tutor while in high school and while working towards my BA in Mathematics at the College of Saint Elizabeth. I earned my Master in Public Administration (MPA) from New York University and have worked for the past 10 years in non-profits and city government. In addition, I taught statistics as an adjunct mathematics professor at the college level.I find so much joy in helping students find their love for math. When I served as a professor, nearly all of my undergraduate students were taking the course to complete their minimum mathematics requirement. Most of them had a self-prescribed phobia of math. By the end of the course, they were able to calculate standard deviations, perform regressions and understand the meaning of correlation.In addition, as a policy analyst and project manager, I understand the value of removing the stigma behind data and its usefulness for those who don't have the same love for numbers as I do. I've been able to perform complex data analysis and interpret the findings for colleagues and senior leadership to inform their policy decisions and improve program operations.In my free time, I enjoy travel, running, yoga, and rock climbing.

I am a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College. Throughout all four years of high school, I tutored my peers in subjects such as chemistry, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics. Passionate about sharing my learning with younger students in the community, I was also a primary instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center, where I spent three years teaching math and reading to students who ranged from pre-K to 12th grade. Additionally, as an assistant instructor for the Arizona Science Center's Camp Innovation, I empowered youth by delivering science programming to children between the ages of four and seven. Through such experiences, I've realized the impact that I can have as a tutor.In addition to helping students understand their classwork and improve their grades, I have the opportunity to build positive relationships, bring motivation to those in need of it, and most importantly, help others succeed after recognizing their potential. Although I tutor a wide range of subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor are those related to math and science because I believe in the importance of building STEM literacy.In my free time, I enjoy hiking, drawing, playing my viola, listening to music, and traveling.

One of my favorite writers, Bret Lott, once wrote: "Of course words matter. Of course we must choose carefully." As a teacher, I aim to impart Mr. Lott's lesson to my students, chiefly, that we must give time and effort, as well as great care, to the manner in which we express ourselves. After all, writing is a craft, much like a painter taking brush to canvas, or a sprinter gliding along a track. Keeping this and other lessons in my mind, I teach my students the value of hard work and the virtue of perseverance, all in an effort to achieve their potential.I have spent the last three years working as a high school English teacher in the NYC public school system, and earned a Master's degree in Education (grades 7 to 12). Prior to becoming a teacher, I earned an MFA degree in Creative Writing. My poems and literary criticism have appeared in such respected journals as American Book Review, Washington Square, Eleven Eleven, and others. I will bring the breadth and scope of this experience and knowledge to work for you and your needs.

I am a passionate Cybersecurity professional with an Associate's and Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Cybersecurity from the best cyber program in the commonwealth, George Mason University. The main goal in my field is to protect people, and one of the best ways of doing that is teaching people.
