Concepts covered today included translations and reflections, similar triangles, midpoints, interior angles, point-slope form, circles, tangency, free response questions, and arc lengths. The student was struggling most with arc length and parallelogram proofs. After going through the problems, the student seemed to have a much better understanding of the majority of the topics. I included special tricks and formulas to use. I left the student with some problems for arc length and planned out what we definitely needed to do for our next session.

We started by going through most of the geometry formulas she will need to use including area, perimeter, circumference, Pythagorean theorem and others. Next, we worked through some practice problems together. She did fairly well on the quantitative comparison questions, and I explained some general strategies for these. Next time we will continue with the problem solving section and data interpretation. She also completed some verbal practice for homework and thought she had a better grasp on the reading comprehension passages by using the techniques we talked about last time.
