I have a Bachelor of Arts in actuarial science and finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctorate from the UIC John Marshall Law School. In my experience working with students, I have come to believe that a student can accomplish anything if they are willing to put the work into it and have the right guidance. I find satisfaction when I can help a student push past their perceived limitations and achieve goals they believed were unachievable. I can tutor a variety a subjects, but I specialize in mathematics, particularly with students that find math challenging. In my free time I enjoy reading, martial arts, golf and weight lifting.

I received Bachelor's Degree of Science in Psychology, cum Laude with highest honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. While studying, I was employed as a laboratory technician at the Rhodes Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience, where the bulk of my work, including my senior honors thesis, concerned the adverse of effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on the developing hippocampal region of the brain. After graduating, I served a year, full time, as an Americorps member with City Year, tutoring and mentoring 7th and 8th grade students in the Englewood Community of Chicago in 1-on-1 and small group settings. I am currently working toward a TEFL certification that would allow me to teach English as a foreign language abroad. With Varsity Tutors, I tutor a wide range of subjects including biology, algebra, and English, as well as ACT and GRE prep. I employ a student-centered teaching style, encouraging students to think independently and draw their own conclusions about the content. In my free time, I enjoy appreciating and composing music and literature, and take an active role in grassroots politics.

Hello! I received my bachelor's degree in linguistics at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign in 2016. I am an English, reading, writing, math, ISEE, SAT, and ACT tutor, specializing in aiding children and adults reach their goals while assisting them in completing homework assignments and essays, in addition to helping them prepare for tests and exams. I'm passionate about assisting students in developing their reading skills and math knowledge. My tutoring methods consist of breaking down complex topics into smaller steps so that I can help my students better understand the subject material. Most recently, I've worked with several students aiming to take the ISEE, SAT, and ACT tests, oftentimes collaborating with them in creating a study plan that would be most effective in attaining their desired scores while helping to improve their reading and math skills. I view each student as an individual with their own strengths and weaknesses, which enables me to design a unique study plan that strives to improve their weaker areas while emphasizing their strengths. Additionally, I assign homework that aligns with my tutoring sessions so that students can practice the skills they learned during the tutoring sessions and begin to comprehend common concepts featured on the ACT, SAT, and ISEE tests. Through practice and diligence, my students begin to improve in their reading and math skills while achieving their desired results in their chosen exams and classes.

I am a rising junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign studying Computer Engineering. I love learning and teaching math, science, and programming. I have mentored kids ranging from 5-15 and worked as a counselor for a science camp.
