The New Sweden Farmstead Museum is an outdoor museum located in City Park in Bridgeton. The museum is a recreation of an early American farmstead, and originally was a living museum with actors dressed as historical figures. Also housed in Bridgeton's city park is the Cohanzick Zoo. The zoo exhibits over 100 animals and has several animal statues throughout the park. As New Jersey's first zoo, the Cohanzick Zoo is one of the few free zoos left in the country. Each summer the zoo offers Zoo Camp for children, which includes up close views of the animals, crafts, snacks, and a camp shirt. After walking through the zoo, enjoy the splash park, a water playground open seven days a week and operating for three two-hour sessions each day. The zoo also hosts Out to Lunch every Friday in July; pack a picnic and enjoy free entertainment in the zoo courtyard. For Halloween, enjoy Boo at the Zoo, complete with crafts, face painting, and of course, candy. Each December the zoo is host to the popular Festival of Lights. We finished the student's algebra packet and went over her practice exam questions from Saturday, particularly ones she missed and/or left blank. I made up a few extra practice problems for areas in which she needed a refresher. She has gotten a good grasp on the topics overall over the course of the semester!

The student and I went over a review sheet for her upcoming final. We focused mostly on determining if series converged or diverged. We plan to work on these problems more again tomorrow and do a few more exercises.

We finished module 6 of the student's online Geometry course, & took the module 6 exam. I didn't see any problems with the student's comprehension of the material, & we covered a lot of ground today; I'd call it a good session.

Tutoring review by Hannah in Bridgeton, NJ
In today's session we covered some basic algebra concepts in preparation for the student's upcoming exam. This included topics such as slopes and equations of lines, quadratics, multiplying and dividing fractions, simplifying expressions, systems of equations and even some factoring. He seemed to understand the material well once we reviewed it -- much of the session acted as more of a review of rather than an introduction to any of these topics. I recommend that he complete some additional practice problems before taking his exam, but I think he will do well once he get in that practice.

Tutoring review by Caroline in Bridgeton, NJ
The students and I started out the day by playing tic tac toe with basic verbs then went into a vocabulary review game. We continued to practice with verbs that were new towards the end of last school year and practiced verb endings. Student 1 was much better at recognizing words when they were written out than at listening comprehension. He remembered a lot! Student 2 did a good job breaking down sentences into smaller chunks then putting the words back together again. I left them with a sheet for homework and book page to continue practicing again.
