The student and I covered topics from his homework including but not limited to grade 5 level math, and word problems associated with the Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple. We had to solve word problems and create word problems explaining the steps involved in finding the solution. The student was very cooperative throughout the session. He required guided practice for most of the session, but by the end he was able to do problems independently.

The student worked on her math homework with word problems involving decimals and two step solutions. She then worked on her social studies project in which she analyzed an article about a new recreational vehicle with environmental implications. The student said she had the most difficulty with science and math, so we focused on those sections. She did well with analyzing the data in the graphs and the text of the science. We also discussed some strategies to help her save time, such as skipping straight to the questions. We did some timed practice as well. I gave her the assignment to do a diagnostics test for math and science. She showed improvement in both sections.
