I am a tutor, but I am also a mentor. While I believe education is of utmost importance, I also believe a student needs to find value in their education. I don't tutor to help students get the assignment done, I tutor to help develop respect for learning.

I am a very flexible person when it comes to my tutoring style. I know that everyone learns differently and it is my duty to do everything in my power to help my students succeed. If one explanation isn't quite getting through, there are always many other ways to get the solution across.

I'm Kamil, a newly appointed tutor. Currently, I'm a second-year student at Amherst College, majoring in computer science and mathematics. Since a young age, I've been captivated by the intricacies of mathematics and enjoyed challenging myself with seemingly unsolvable problems. As I matured, my passion for mathematics expanded, driving me to help struggling students, especially those in underfunded school districts.

I'm a full-time math teacher, and I teach everything from Algebra to Geometry to PreCalculus to Calc, and I've worked with students at the honors, college prep and fundamentals levels. My students appreciate my energy, positivity, and love of math, and they know how much I care about them. In addition to teaching, I am also a high school varsity coach with a record of success in football and lacrosse.

I'm comfortable with all math content up through Calculus. Some of my most enjoyable and rewarding experiences working with students have been helping them with assignments individually during a free period or after school. I am a firm believer in problem-based learning, and encourage students to ask questions and think for themselves.
