Tutoring review by Lindsey in Pleasantville, NJ
The student finished with the last of her homework assignments, in which she had to find the distance between two points, determine which quadrant(s) a point was in, and find points on a grid based on a word problem. Then, she began working on the study guide problems for her first test which is on Monday. She worked on many different types of problems involving imaginary numbers and then solving for "x" using factoring, square roots, and completing the square. We will review one more time before she takes the test.

Tutoring review by Judy in Pleasantville, NJ
We went over some basic concepts like multiplication facts, and factoring numbers using prime factorization. She has a delightful "can do" attitude. I encouraged her to not guess at her answers, but to "do" the math. Her teacher has given her many "extra credit" sheets. She completed three of these, plus her current night's homework. I asked her to work on her multiplication facts.

Concepts that were covered included word problems that related unit rates, multiplying and dividing fractions, determining x in an equation, and simplifying fractions. The student is showing constant improvement in determining which information in the problem statement is relevant and being able to set up the appropriate equation with that information. We will continue working on unit analysis and why units are important in calculations.

The student and I went over a review for her upcoming test. We revisited the topics we have seen over the past few weeks: synthetic and long division, factoring, and rational root theorem, among others. She has a good understanding of the material, and with this refresher, I expect for her to do well on her test.

Tutoring review by Elmarie in Pleasantville, NJ
We covered the days of the week, months, clothes, and basic conversational Spanish. The student required me to practice the verbs and verb tenses. His attitude was a really positive one, and he has a lot of interest in learning these subjects. I left additional practice to the student, and I will bring more verbs for future practice. He has progressed a lot and is learning very quickly.
