We worked through the one question the student wasn't sure about, and clarified a bunch of ideas while we did so. The problem was a weird one, since a lot of the concepts that they're trying to emphasize just didn't exist in our case. Anyway, I taught her a general way to un-derive things, which is useful and incredibly important later on, and gave her some tips for graphing things based on their first and second derivatives. I then gave an example of a function in the context of these derivatives, in particular a very cool function that underlies all fundamental particles and could technically let you teleport anywhere in the universe. No big deal.
