I have been a high school English teacher for over 11 years. Throughout my time in this position I have taught a broad spectrum of classes, but my main concentrations have been in Writing, American Literature, and British Literature. I also teach the verbal SAT prep class in my district. I obtained my BA from The College of New Jersey with a major in English. I also have my Masters of Education, which I obtained from The University of Phoenix in 2007.
I currently tutor writing, close-reading, and literature. I believe that teachers can help students find intrinsic motivation. Every child is capable of much more than they believe and it is our job as adults and teachers to provide children with the skills they need to unlock their potential. I enjoy working one-on-one with students because is really enables me to delve into the content and help students really understand.
Outside of teaching, I am a single mother of two beautiful children. We love to ski, go to the beach, swim, dance, roller-skate, read, and scout. I am easy to talk and relate to and I'm hoping that I can help your child meet success in all of his or her academic goals.
