The student and I covered sections 103, 104, and 105 during this session. We focused on the practice problems and the practice questions that pertained to the sections covered today. We kept the problem set short in order to focus on a worksheet I prepared for her. She has been having problems with distance/ rate/ time problems so I made a worksheet with all of the question types so that she could get practice. After going through about half of the problems we left the rest for her to do for homework.

Tutoring review by John in Margate City, NJ
We ran a chi squared test to compare proportions in her data. We found an anomaly in the test, we hypothesize it is due to selection of a portion of the data. The student is very focused and has a deep knowledge of the behavior statistics of her subjects; this has prevented the anomaly mentioned previously from becoming an error. I asked her to do 3 things: formulate the hypotheses she would like to investigate, listing any known tests or models; state the expectations she has for each of the results; compare these with any preliminary results thus far.

Tutoring review by Andrew in Margate City, NJ
Today, the student worked through some problems involving the same topics we'd been covering during previous sessions. Specifically, he worked on a proof that involved using the properties of isosceles triangles, a proof that required he use the HL theorem, a problem where he used the HL theorem in order to determine the value of two variables used to delineate the side-lengths of two right triangles, and some problems where he was asked to supply an additional piece of information needed to prove that two triangles were congruent. He needed at least a bit of help with each of the problems but understood all of them once we went through them. For homework, I asked that he work through the rest of his yellow and pink worksheets. Nice work, and see you next week!

Tutoring review by Kevin in Margate City, NJ
The student and I worked on some triangle trig and vectors, as well as reviewed some trig identity problems. She is pretty confident in all the material; she just needs to improve on identifying which method to use for each problem. Once she identifies the method, she is pretty quick to solve the problem.
