We practiced finding the least common denominator, converting fractions to the LCD, and then ordering those fractions by size. At first the student was having some issues with the method she was taught to identify the LCD. She was adding the numbers she got instead of multiplying them. Sometimes she would also subtract instead of dividing. After some practice and clarification, she mastered the concept and was able to correctly find the LCD for five different numbers and convert them without even using a calculator.
