Tutoring review by Jessica in Palisades Park, NJ
The student had just been introduced to standard measurements, and he requested to go over them so he could understand better. We started discussing the relationship between inches, feet, yards, and miles. We discussed real life examples like rulers and football fields. He had an easier time with volume and could convert between ounces, pints, and quarts. Next session, we will go over this some more to help the student get comfortable with the concepts.

The student prepared a cheat sheet for his final exam. We reviewed all of the topics within his review packet, took notes, then created the review sheet during the remainder of our session. I left him with his study sheet to study and familiarize himself with.

The student started with his math homework. His ability to do his pre-algebra was very good. We discussed story elements and what he remembers from his classroom discussion today. He was pretty good at remembering what had gone on. We ended with his reading from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Tutoring review by Joseph in Palisades Park, NJ
We covered graphing functions using parent functions and transformation, function transformations, and graphing linear equations. The student has a great attitude toward learning the materials after I had shown her more clearly how to approach the problems. I showed her how to set up the problem into an understandable format by using T charts and separating Y (or f(x)), and x, then adding the transformation of X and Y to the chart and re-figuring the points. She already understood the graphing of linear equations. I think she catches on very fast when shown how to logically approach the problem, and I think she will do very well!
