Tutoring review by Christabel in Wallington, NJ
During this session, the student and I covered all of Section 3.3: Dividing Polynomials and most Section 3.4: Rational Functions. She seemed to do well. I gave her tips on how to approach the problems she struggled with. Also, she agreed to complete 3.4 #84, 89, 90 & 91 on her own before submitting her assignment tomorrow. I advised her to double check that she had the assignment written down correctly to avoid any misunderstanding. Also, I told her to send me a picture message of her work so that I can ensure that she completed the assignment correctly.

We completed the first three pages from his final exam review including topics in logarithms, exponents, complex graphs and simplifying algebraic expressions. Once we completed several practice problems together, he was able to get a good grasp of the material and answer all of the questions correctly. I also showed him a simple strategy on how to plot log graphs without a calculator. Overall it was a good session.

Today, we worked on probability problems, including conditional probability and calculating probability of events with and without replacement. We talked about conceptually why conditional events have to be calculated differently and how to recognize a conditional event and fill in the formula. We did a lot of different problem types tonight, and I think the student is gaining confidence calculating probabilities.

Tutoring review by Jim in Wallington, NJ
I introduced some new vocabulary, including vocabulary related to college, as per the student's request. We then looked at some curriculum she has used in the past, reviewed some of that material, and discussed some ways to structure future sessions. We will work on some new vocabulary as well as material from a textbook that she has next time.
