I graduated from Davidson College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I earned my masters in 2009 from Wake Forest University in Business Administration and Management. My goal here is to help anyone who genuinely wants to learn and prepare themselves for success in education and in life. I enjoy golf and travel.

I have been tutoring since 2018. I was a math instructor for five years at a math learning center. There I worked with students in grades 1 through college. I particularly love teaching elementary and middle school math as well as Algebra! I am comfortable working with students of all ages and all abilities. In addition to tutoring math, I was a Spanish AT for introductory Spanish courses and also conversational ones. I also volunteered at the local public elementary school weekly to teach Spanish to second graders. The summer between my junior and senior year, I was fortunate enough to intern in Spain and teach English at a bilingual school. I believe every student learns differently, and I am always happy to adapt my teaching methods to best meet each student's individual needs. These methods range include diagrams, drawings, and the socratic method.
As a passionate biologist with a PhD in Developmental Biology from Stanford University, I bring a unique blend of academic expertise and a hands-on teaching approach to my tutoring sessions. With experience in guiding students through complex concepts in AP Biology, Cell Biology, and Genetics, I focus on tailoring each lesson to meet individual learning goals. My methodology emphasizes interactive problem-solving and real-world applications, fostering a supportive environment where students can thrive. I believe in making learning engaging by incorporating memory devices and fun facts that spark curiosity. I'm excited to inspire the next generation of scientists and help students unlock their potential in biology.

I am a Spanish speaker and enjoy helping others practice their skills. If you are interested in talking sports, The Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers are my teams! As a tutor, I will work with students to identify their strengths areas of growth. We will work together to master mathematics and language arts skills in a relevant and enjoyable context. I look forward to working with families in helping young learners realize their potential.

Hi,I'm super excited to start working with you! Let me share a bit about my journey. When I was preparing for the ACT and applying to various programs, I didn't have a lot of resources. It was challenging, but I managed to score in the 99th percentile on the ACT, which opened up incredible opportunities for me. One of the highlights of my college career was interning at the White House, an experience that taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. Now, I'm gearing up for an exciting academic future: I'll be pursuing a Master's Degree at the University of Oxford and a law degree at Berkeley Law. These experiences have given me a wealth of knowledge and skills that I'm eager to share with you. I know firsthand how tough it can be to navigate the world of standardized tests and college applications, especially if you don't have many resources. I graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina with a BA in Community Development based on my involvement in Community Service. Since then, I lived and taught Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, and High School students in Thailand and Taiwan, and ESL and GED adult students here in the United States. I have worked with students from over 70 different countries in the world, of all ages, and all levels. I believe that learning should be fun and interactive. Everyone learns differently and I think my job as a tutor and teacher is to discover how an individual learns best and build on their strengths.Outside of teaching, I love to read, spend time at the beach, and play silly games with my 4 year old daughter.
I am a graduate of Davidson College and Columbia University. My BA is in English, supplemented with studies in art history and Russian language. I studied abroad in Australia my junior year, where I studied literature and studio art. At Columbia, I earned my Master's in Fine Art in creative writing, with a focus on nonfiction. I have taught in the Columbia Summer High School Program and other Columbia programs, helping students of all abilities with all genres of creative writing, and with reading comprehension. These have been relatively small classes, where I have had the opportunity to get to know my students and provide advice and guidance based on my own academic career. I love helping students in all aspects of college prep, from SAT prep to time management to managing personal anxiety. I also tutor in English literature and GRE test prep. I believe that education should not only prepare one for the job market, but enrich one as a person, providing a wider and deeper worldview. I believe in not only teaching the mechanics of a subject but in helping a student understand the reasons behind those mechanics, to truly think about the material. This results not just in rote memory of facts but in more sophisticated critical thinking and the ability to generate new ideas, two skills that will serve a student for a lifetime, academically, professionally, and personally.I love to read: reading has been very important to me since I was a kid, and I enjoy helping others appreciate the pleasures of a good book. I balance this with physical activities, including yoga, weight lifting, and running. I play roller derby with New York's Bad Apples, and am so fortunate to be a member of that supportive community of women. I am also writing a memoir about my family, forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2017.
I received my BA in Theater from Davidson College and an MA in Education from Wake Forest University. Over the past several years, I have tutored a variety of students in English, math and organizational skills. One of my favorite subjects is geometry. It fosters essential skills like working with numbers and spatial tasks, which apply to just about any profession. As an educator, I pride myself on patience. Students often come to me with questions they didn't get to ask during class. I want to fill in those gaps and help people achieve their academic goals. I adore dogs, love promoting local arts and crafts, and enjoy performing Shakespeare!
Hey! My name is Ramsey, and I'm excited to tutor various subjects, from SAT/ACT prep to high school and college-level STEM courses. I have a strong background in educating high school and university-level students, and I pride myself on catering to students' diverse learning styles! As a student with late-diagnosed ADHD, it is my mission to create engaging lessons and inspire students to become advocates in their learning.
I am a current senior at Davidson College, working towards my B.A. in German Studies and Arab Studies. I have spent many hours tutoring the German and Arabic language to college students. I have spent time abroad in Germany, studying German as a second language with AATG (American Association of Teachers of German). My years of being a camp counselor and babysitter have translated into my teaching methods and style. I encourage young learners to approach problems in multiple ways by retesting previously learned material and encouraging independent thinking. I am a huge believer in discovering answers instead of being told them. I look forward to working with you!
