My years of being a camp counselor and babysitter have translated into my teaching methods and style. It is most important to me, when it comes to history, to democratize its study -- you CAN understand it! It just needs to be in words more accessible to you.In terms of writing and essay help, I did weekly writing sessions with freshmen at my college to help them improve their papers. We would most ofter go over clarity, word choice, grammar, etc. I believe it's important to represent yourself how you want to be represented, and taking the time to learn to write in your own voice is very freeing and makes the writing process less arduous. I promise :)My philosophy around education is that if you are visibly putting in the effort, I am proud of you. Especially in these very hard times, I am proud of you for pushing through and seeking tutoring help. Education is important and learning is fun! I have been tutoring since 2018. I was a math instructor for five years at a math learning center. There I worked with students in grades 1 through college. I particularly love teaching elementary and middle school math as well as Algebra! I am comfortable working with students of all ages and all abilities. In addition to tutoring math, I was a Spanish AT for introductory Spanish courses and also conversational ones. I also volunteered at the local public elementary school weekly to teach Spanish to second graders. The summer between my junior and senior year, I was fortunate enough to intern in Spain and teach English at a bilingual school. I believe every student learns differently, and I am always happy to adapt my teaching methods to best meet each student's individual needs. These methods range include diagrams, drawings, and the socratic method.
