Tutoring review by Tejas in Los Gatos, CA
We went over the material from her chapter 1 section, which included Pythagorean theorem, triangle inequality, decimals, fractions, etc. The student is doing very well in her understanding and we only had few technical issues that she picked up on quite easily. I am planning to meet her once she gets back from her camp in order to help her prepare for her exam the following Thursday.

The student is doing practice problems on conservation of energy (kinetic and potential) in the context of springs, sliding, rolling and falling objects. He is quick to learn and communicates clearly. He asks good questions. He needs some extra practice to get the concepts down.

Tutoring review by Kelsy in Los Gatos, CA
The student and I met, and we talked about any tests or quizzes he has had. He told me about what he was learning currently in math, which was simplifying polynomials using synthetic division. He and I then went through his work sheet and discussed remainders and the proper way to show your answers. After that, we worked on Chemistry homework; he had been struggling particularly with Molar Mass and number of particles using Avogadro's number. We went over a worksheet and talked about significant figures and labeling the final answer with the element and correct unit. He appeared to feel more comfortable with math and chemistry when I left. He informed me of his upcoming finals, which are next week, and we set up a new time to meet.

Tutoring review by Ryan in Los Gatos, CA
The student required help with her assignment which involved pulling data from a remote database and displaying it on a webpage. She had trouble understanding the difference between a dynamically generated query versus a predefined one and the different situations where one would be more useful than the other. I helped to walk her through a web tutorial for how to programmatically access and manipulate records from a database and then put them on the web form. My best advice to her is to keep an open mind and positive attitude when attempting to tackle new concepts.

Tutoring review by Maddy Grace in Los Gatos, CA
This was my first session with this student! We got started on her latest material and her test review. She had her mechanics down pretty solid, but would get confused when the material deviated in weird directions. I think this is because she didn't have a solid foundation of what a limit really is and why it's useful, so we backed up and did some limit stuff for a bit.
