How can LSAT tutoring help you?

If you are preparing to apply to law school, then one of your first steps will be to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). This test score is carefully scrutinized when law schools are deciding whether or not to accept a student. Because of this, you will want to be as prepared as possible for the exam. A private tutor may be just the help you need. Varsity Tutors can assist you in your search for an experienced LSAT tutor in San Francisco, California, who can work with you at the time and place that works best for your schedule. You can even meet with your tutor face-to-face online to prepare for the exam.

San Francisco LSAT tutors can provide you with multiple benefits that studying alone cannot. For one, your tutor can provide you with practice exams to help you pinpoint your weakest areas, and then, the two of you can go over any incorrect answers together. You can receive immediate feedback on each concept you had trouble with. This can prove to be especially helpful on the writing section of the exam. You can also use a practice exam to decide which areas of the exam you and your tutor should focus on. This may help to streamline your LSAT preparation. The exam contains five sections – reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, variable section, and a writing sample. You and your tutor may choose to cover each section, just a few sections, or only one section, depending on your study needs.

LSAT Tutoring review by Michaela in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
The student and I worked on his social studies today, since he has a test coming up pretty soon. He has an excellent memory for the material, so I'd really like to see what an exam is like to see if there are problems in his understanding of the questions. We'll meet again in a week since he's taking assessment tests through Friday.

LSAT Tutoring review by Drew in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
I started this session with the student  by going over expressate phrases with him.  We practiced the "call and response" of these phrases and we also practiced translating them from Spanish into English and from English into Spanish.    He seemed to pick up on these phrases very quickly and was able to translate them with little help from me.  We then worked on vocabulary for his upcoming quiz.    He showed an excellent command of the chapter's vocabulary.  We ended the session by practicing the type of oral "true and false" questions that he will see on his quiz.    He did very well during our practice time and showed that he is well-prepared for his quiz tomorrow.

Today we focused on geometry (angles, triangles, Pythagorean theorem) and essay writing (thesis, supporting evidence, organization). I gave the student some homework, both sample geometry questions and an essay, and I told her to take her time on both to focus on doing well without time constraints.

The student and I covered math and reading today. In math, we moved into more of Unit 5 (his upcoming unit), which includes adding and subtracting decimals, fractions, double digit multiplication, and long division. He is doing well in most topics. We are reading a chapter book currently, called Mrs. Frisby and the rats of Nimh. He likes to read the book and draw sections of it. This aids in his attention and understanding of the book. He has some trouble sounding out words and making sure he is reading the next line correctly, instead of skipping lines accidentally. We will continue with the chapter book.

An introductory session. While we did work on some grammar points and translation of Cicero, I was primarily interested in assessing his Latin and strategies for studying. I found he really is pretty good with the basics.
