Tutoring review by Joseph in San Mateo, CA
The student began by asking for help completing the questions for his Article of the Week assignment. After going over the article together and coaching him towards the answers, we finished defining the new vocabulary list which we began last week. As usual, he was familiar with some of the words already, which helped keep us going at a strong pace. Finally, I questioned him on the new words from last week; he remembered many of them, but forgot a few. This will improve with time, of course.

I corrected the English practice test the student had completed, and his score was much improved from the ACT he took! He is better with the rhetoric questions than the ones on grammar and usage, so I will bring some exercises for us to do on the latter next time. We spent the rest of the time doing math problems. I asked the student to complete a math practice test before our next session.
