Tutoring review by Madelyne in Merrillville, IN
Today we went through the unit that the student is working through in biology class and really try to read and absorb the information. His work that he has to do is mostly comprised of questions that test how well he read and understood the content of his lessons, so we took this opportunity to really try to absorb the chapter. I encouraged him to take notes to help him remember material. It was a solid session!

Tutoring review by Connor in Merrillville, IN
Today's session was spent entirely on understanding parametric curves, their slope, and how to find velocity and speed (and what the differences are). I explained things in terms of a table with air vents, it seems that explanations of the material in terms of something one could actually build in the real world helps. We also established that everything must be done in radians now, and that was why she was getting all of her arc length questions wrong.

Tutoring review by Mihir in Merrillville, IN
Today's lesson with the student went very well. She is very ahead of her 5th grade level, so I went and moved on to 6th grade math. She welcomed this new math with open arms and was eager to learn more. I taught her variables and expressions, and solving inequalities with variables. I am giving her extra practice due by next week.

Tutoring review by Morgan in Merrillville, IN
The student informed me that she has a hard time learning from her current teacher. I informed her that most students struggle with Algebra 2/ Trigonometry because they do not have a solid grasp of Algebra 1. We began with understand what the domain and range of a function means, and translations on parent graphs. We reviewed factoring, and solving equations briefly as it relates to finding the domain of a function. I suggested that she should create a cheat sheet of Algebra 1 equations and identities.
