Geometry Tutoring review by Anna in New Jersey
The student and I reviewed a new topic of vectors. We talked about vector magnitude and used the equation to find it. We also talked about vectors having both magnitude and direction, so we found the direction of a vector based on the coordinate plane. We also worked on resultant vectors, finding them algebraically and through the parallelogram method.

The student and I worked first on geometry, which involved reviewing for his upcoming quiz. We talked about the basic properties of circles and how to solve different problems pertaining to arc measures, angle measures, chord lengths, and tangent lengths.

We covered polynomial factoring and division. We discussed two ways to approach polynomial division through synthetic division and long division. The student had a good grasp of everything and was comfortable with all of the material.

Geometry Tutoring review by William in New Jersey
Specifically, we covered a proof which employed the triangle midsegment theorem and how it could be used to prove similarity with midsegment triangles. Most of the session was spent learning the strategies to find orthocenters of triangles. This included a lengthy discussion of negative reciprocal slopes, the point-slope equation, and solving systems of equations. Although we had a few stumbling blocks while trying to feel comfortable using fractions instead of decimals, the student seems to be feeling much more comfortable with finding orthocenters. No extra practice given, no grades/scores were reviewed. We will continue to work on using fractions more comfortably, as that is probably the only trouble she is having right now.

Geometry Tutoring review by Heiyab in New Jersey
This was my first session with the student. After introductions, we jumped right into his geometry homework. The homework was related to similar triangles and using theorems and postulates to prove that a triangle was similar and, if so, to determine various side lengths. He did fairly well with the concept but got a little tripped up when triangles were inside one another. I recommended he redraw them as two triangles and to make sure the sides and angles he used actually corresponded. We finished our session by completing his five-question algebra review. The session went very well, both academically and personally as we connected over sports teams and being athletes. Our next session is scheduled for Sunday, March 2nd at 6pm.

Geometry Tutoring review by Dae in New Jersey
The student's class is still reviewing for an upcoming standardized test, and since they are not covering much new material, most of this session was spent going over homework and standardized test prep. I am seeing definite improvement in writhing out the problem solving process and am confident he will do good with his standardized test. We also reviewed some test taking strategies to maximize use of time while not skipping steps with solving problems.
