Tutoring review by Tom in Downingtown, PA
We brainstormed for the student's final research paper, and did some reading, and talked about spoken English. We practiced by reading out of "More Than a Dream," and talked about getting some articulation exercises, as well as compiling a reading list.

Tutoring review by Ariele in Downingtown, PA
We discussed the student workload, what she needs to catch up on, and how to approach it all. She has an English paper due Thursday, which I recommended she ask for an extension on until Friday so she could complete each of her remaining 2 logs online tonight and tomorrow night. We discussed what quotes she should be looking for in the text in order to make her analysis applicable to her thesis and sub theses. We also caught up on some of her math to ensure that she doesn't fall behind in Algebra 2, because conics are difficult to master! In addition to the log, I also suggested that she complete her online Chemistry assignments and lab write-up, since they are due tomorrow. Next week we'll look at her math more in depth and potentially her upcoming history project.

Tutoring review by Susan in Downingtown, PA
For our last session before the student takes the GED, we spent an hour reviewing high-yield science topics (stages of mitosis, the difference between mitosis and meiosis, foundations of Mendelian genetics, genotypes v. phenotypes, dominant v. recessive genes, applying probability laws to genetics problems). She feels well-prepared for all sections of the exam and is looking forward to getting it done so that we can focus entirely on college prep material for our remaining sessions.

Tutoring review by Joseph in Downingtown, PA
The student  and I began by scoring the practice SAT she took over the past week. She answered very few questions incorrectly--though many questions were left blank--and her essay was well-written, so the practice test earned a score of 1990 out of 2400, an excellent score. We then looked over the incorrect and blank responses to determine why each error had occurred. The biggest challenges  she faced were the difficult SAT vocabulary and the time limit; to help with the former problem, we discussed context clues and etymology, and to help with the latter, we reviewed general test strategies and pacing once more. Based on the student's practice score and our last review, I believe she will perform strongly on this Saturday's SAT.

Tutoring review by Ishita in Downingtown, PA
We started with a quick review for her quarter test, which is next week. It will be over rational functions, logarithms, and trigonometry. We then went over her homework, which is beginning trigonometry. She is having some troubles identifying coterminal angles, but is doing pretty well with it overall.
