Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Jesse in Provo, UT
Today, we covered force vs displacement graphs for spring systems. Given a plot of force vs. displacement for a given spring, we were able to derive the spring constant, work done on the spring, and energy stored within the spring when stretched to various lengths. I was excited to hear today that the student's grade in Physics has been improving, and that she scored well above her average on her previous test.

Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Grace in Provo, UT
We spent most of the time reviewing all of the material that will be covered on the test. The student told me she had done some of the online quizzes and it was apparent that those helped her learn the material better. We also went through the review questions at the end of each section in the textbook to help reinforce the information. I think that if she takes a deep breath and thinks through all of the questions on her exam she will do well.

Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Lauren in Provo, UT
The student and I kept working through her notes for her latest chapter in chemistry. We reviewed more difficult stoichiometry questions, including solutions, ideal gas law/STP conversion, and limiting reactants. She has a hard time knowing when to use values calculated from mass/volumes/concentrations to make conversions, and when to use the mole:mole values given in a balanced chemical reaction. We talked about when to use what value and what each value represents. We also began talking about limiting reactants. She's doing a fantastic job with balancing chemical equations and chemical formulas. I'd like to spend some more time talking about reaction types and specifics to watch for given a reaction type.

Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Dan in Provo, UT
The student and I worked on a lesson of his online physics course, applying vector practice we had previously done on more challenging multiple vector problems. He handled this new information very well and applied it thoroughly as he worked new problems for the first time, aligning vectors into x and y components very successfully after my demonstration and explanation.

Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Houtaneh in Provo, UT
The student did very well! She's seeming more and more comfortable with biochemistry every time we meet. We went thru a bulk of glycolysis, and all she really needed was a breakdown of what is happening in each step!

Organic Chemistry Tutoring review by Alex in Provo, UT
The student and I discussed her assignment to come up with 8 physics questions and solve them in order to gain back some of her lost points on her last exam. I think that she is getting increasingly comfortable with 2D kinematics and is growing in confidence. I hope that she will be able to transfer some of the fundamental skills she has gained in this unit to coming topics this year.
