I graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Science in Economics and a Bachelors of Science in Philosophy. I primarily tutor economics, but also tutor philosophy and social studies. When it comes to tutoring I understand students and others typically have specific questions or concerns they would like assistance with. I like to target those specific questions and concerns. My goal is to help learners come to an answer to those questions, and have confidence that they can complete similar tasks.

I recently graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry! I am passionate about many different topics within science and math, and I am excited to help people understand these topics better. I am senior at Brigham Young University with a 4.0 GPA. I am majoring in Exercise Science and am going to go to Physical Therapy school. I am also getting a minor in Psychology. I lived in France for two years and became fluent in the French language. I continue to converse with natives in French. I was a college chemistry TA for three semesters and love teaching chemistry. I did very well on standardized tests. I love to teach and impart knowledge to others in a way that is compatible with individual learning styles.

I had doubled majored in anthropology and Chinese during my undergraduate at the University of Utah. I am currently earning a Masters in International Studies with a certificate in Public Diplomacy at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. From my experiences, I believe in engaging and personal experiences in education to help students in reaching individual goals.I first gained a love of teaching languages teaching refugees English. I refined my passion in sharing knowledge from my experiences in doing anthropological research and hands-on experimental archaeological field school during my undergraduate years. During my time as a museum professional in Thanksgiving Point, my skills in facilitating formal and informal education developed further to adapt my teaching to all age groups and learning styles.I tailor lesson plans that work with the student's prior understanding of the material. In creating more of a collaborative environment I like to have students try different ways to see and solve a problem that they themselves can use effectively in the future. My goal is to help students be able to integrate the knowledge into their personal understanding to have more independent use of it in the future.Also, in violin I had been concert mistress and section leader in my high school orchestra. I have also studied violin privately under Rosalie Macmillan for about 3 to 4 years. Additionally I have attended music festivals and gained a music letter as I graduated high school. I can tutor up to upper intermediate violin.

Learning is the key to success. That is why I am passionate in helping students to enjoy the learning process. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University studying business, so I know how hard it can be to learn about a subject that is difficult, or from a teacher who does not connect well with their students. That is why I strive to teach my students by the principal I learned from Alfred Mercier "What we learn with pleasure we never forget". I learned this first hand as I lived in South America for two years. It was a lot easier to learn Spanish when I could find ways to make it enjoyable! Spanish is my favorite subject to teach because it is such a valuable tool to have in this day and age where people are coming together from all over the world. I also teach other subjects such as accounting, marketing, and algebra. I hope that I will be able to teach my students in a fun, exciting way so that they will be able to retain this valuable knowledge for years to come.My interests include football, basketball, guitar, wakeboarding, scouting, and other outdoor activities.

Some people can naturally figure things out without a lot of explanation. In most things, I'm not that guy! Like many students, understanding comes with repetition of principles and hard work. I have the perspective of a student trying to understand, not a teacher trying to preach. I love working with people from the ground up; we start at the comfort zone and work our way to improvement. I know I don't know everything, so I'm excited to learn as well!

I have always had a passion for helping other people. I discovered that education was one area where I could do this when I was in high school. I began to realize that I communicate well with others and that I enjoy explaining and teaching concepts.I started to tutor younger students, and I realized that I love it! I love seeing the progress that people make, and being able to help people get over challenges that they never thought they could get over.I take a hands-on, enabling approach to tutoring. I always give my students the opportunity to figure something out themselves, and when they struggle, I coach them through the problem, enabling them to discover methods and patterns themselves. I find that this method of tutoring leads to the longest-lasting learning, and the highest satisfaction for both me and the student.Outside of academics, I love music (listening to and making it), sports (especially football and volleyball), and entrepreneurship. I have many business ideas, some of which are in the works, and others which I hope to be able to make realities in the future.

Currently, I'm enrolled at Brigham Young University studying history. I've done a lot of different extracurricular activities while here with my one of my favorites being volunteer teaching. Over the past four years, I've taught merit badges for Boy Scouts of America, helped friends research/write papers, and taken people on tours of the local natural history museum. I love sharing what I know with people!In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.

I am a Sophomore at BYU from Sacramento, CA. Currently, I am studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Management. I love understanding how everything works and that is one of my biggest motivators in school and learning in general. The subjects in which I am most proficient are Calculus, any type of Algebra and test-taking skills. I am also fluent in Spanish having spent two years in Spain where I talked with peoples of various Spanish-speaking countries emphasizing the Castillian accent. I would love to be able to share my enthusiasm for understanding with everyone.
