We covered the first part of energetics. Specifically, we went over all the different ways of measuring energy changes and all the different enthalpies. Science Tutoring review by Ryan in Sandy, UT
We covered the common ion affect, ice tables and buffers, and the Henderson Hasselbalch equations. The student is very good at the processes once she knows how to go about solving them. I told her to read up on the concepts in the textbook to try to get a fuller view of what is going on.

Science Tutoring review by Heather in Sandy, UT
Today we went over rRNA transcript and processing, including what makes up a ribosome, what proteins are involved in the process and what their specific roles are, and assembly of the ribosome. The student had a good understanding of the underlying concepts, and was looking for help with how the details fit together, and what potential questions could be asked about them. Her attitude was very inquisitive and confident, and she always asked a question if she wanted clarification on a point. We discussed the possibility of typing up notes, and listening to lecture recordings as a good first step to reviewing. I provided her with a typed summary of the notes to go along with the PowerPoint of her first lecture this week. As a first session, I think it went well. We have formulated a plan to try and help her succeed in her class!
