We went over the periodic properties of the elements, including atomic radii, ionization energy, electron affinity, ionic radii, and electronegativity. We also covered Lewis dot structures and covalent and ionic bonding. The student worked a few problems on each topic and is supposed to work the rest for practice. We also reviewed some of the worksheets he has been working on. For the most part, he did very well on them. We identified that naming compounds is still an area that we need to work on. For homework, he is to continue doing the worksheets and make flashcards for all the polyatomic ions he needs to know.
