I am a High School math teacher. Currently I am teaching AP Calculus, Probability and Statistics, College Algebra, and Algebra II. I started tutoring while I was getting my Bachelors degree. I worked for the college tutoring students who needed help with their math classes. Since then I have been tutoring independently and love doing it. I finished my Masters in Math Teaching in 2015. I am a cellular and molecular biology major attending DePaul University. I became a tutor because I would like to use what I have learned to help others succeed. As the oldest of five children, I know how to work with children of different ages and how to tailor topics to their needs. From my past work experiences in the medical and retail fields, I also have a sense with working with different types of people. After graduating from college I worked as an associate teacher at a private high school for kids with emotional and behavioral disorders. One of the things I loved was that I was able to teach a wide variety of subjects from Math to Psychology to History. My favorite subjects are Math, History, and Social Sciences.I grew up in Chicago and recently moved to Phoenix in order to escape the winters and enjoy the sunshine. So far I have not been disappointed. In my free time I practice my trumpet, play ice hockey and volunteer at my local animal shelter.

In general, I often can't meet a students needs when they are very technical-topic specific or otherwise very specialized mathematical areas... If you need a tutor for the Go programming language, you can probably find somebody, but I am not that person (I do everything I can in Python and its libraries, but know Java/C++/SQL and others, e.g. a bit of Prolog, R/SAS. I completed my bachelor's at DePaul University, where I majored in Communication Studies and minored in Literary and Performance Studies. I then went on to earn my master's in Higher Education Administration at Stony Brook University. I have been working in college administration for over 5 years, including in a college-level academic success and tutoring center. Hello All,I am a chemist pursuing my M.S. in chemistry. I currently teach undergraduates as a graduate assistant. I have taught the following courses while in graduate school: General chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. I also minored in mathematics while getting my B.S. in chemistry so I have tutored students in everything from algebra to multi-variable calculus. The tutor and student relationship should always be a positive, interactive, and creative experience that continues to grow with the student's academic ambitions. In my eyes, the word "student" can easily be replaced with "thinker" or "individual," because everyone is unique when it comes to their perspective and thought-process about the world around them.In my view, the best part about my approach to tutoring is that "we" get to decide what personal practices will create the greatest learning experience for you. Of course, the final product of any assignment that you are given needs to be exactly as your school teacher wants it. But the roads, the turns, and the pace that we take to complete that finished product is entirely up to you! My goal is to assist students in what they find most difficult to help them achieve their goals. I enjoy getting to know a student's personal interests and hobbies. In doing so, I will get to know their learning preferences and get to use references or analogies to what they already know and use on a regular basis.

I love working with students! I love learning about students' interests and making tutoring sessions as meaningful and engaging as possible. Working through challenging subjects like reading portions of the ACT or math can actually be fun. We can learn a lot about ourselves through these experiences.I bring a love of music and sports and travel to the work I do. Honestly, everything we do can be an adventure if we approach it with the right attitude and perspective.
