Session Summaries by Trigonometry Tutors

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Samuel in Long Island, NY
We went over all of his math resources, a bunch were online and took a look at his book. It was the first session, he has a strong grasp on the theory behind adding and subtracting, mental math, and is well versed in multiplication. He also understands the idea behind fractions, so for the next session, we'll start talking about fractions and division.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Achante in Long Island, NY
Today, the student was pleased to tell me about her re-test. We worked on multiplication. We worked on multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers, and she made good progress. However, towards the end she began to give up, but I was able to keep her focused until the end of the session.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Kaila in Long Island, NY
We did cross multiplication with an emphasis in geometry. She seemed to pick up on it really well. Also, we went over study skills. I showed her how to use flash cards and gave her good study habits such as turning off music while doing homework.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Anna in Long Island, NY
The student had a trig identities packet for us to work through, and although she struggled at first by the end she was able to work the problems on her own. We're working to build the student's confidence by fostering independence; I think once she proves to herself that she can work the problems she'll feel better during tests.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Devon in Long Island, NY
In this session, the student worked on his weekly packet. There were various problems, some of which he was able explain how to do on his own. There were three he really needed some guidance on. The first was a problem where there was a restaurant bill plus tip, and the student had to calculate the tip, the total bill, and the change to be given back to the customer. The second involved determining which of four three digit numbers was a composite rather than a prime. We broke apart the numbers to solve this one. Finally, there was a table that showed ratios, and he needed to simplify. I was very pleased that once I started to explain, he was able to take it from there and show me the solution with very little help... all in all, a good session.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Carolyn in Long Island, NY
The student and I went over her homework on factoring polynomials and graphing quadratics. She understands these and can do them accurately. For her chemistry class, we went over her homework on early models of the atom, and then went over the chapter together.
