About Me

I am a current student studying business at the Stern School of Business at New York University. I am originally from Delaware, not far from here. I have taken multiple AP courses, such as Statistics, Calculus, Economics, and Physics, so I am comfortable teaching a wide range of topics. My tutoring career started the summer after my junior year of high school. I worked at an after school tutoring facility specializing in math and reading. I worked one on one with students and graded their work, which ranged from elementary math to calculus. I believe in being patient with the kids I work with. Many learn at different paces, which is why they may fall behind in school. I try to connect what they are learning to school to something they can more easily understand: Teaching the same thing, but from a different angle. The trouble with some classes as well is the disconnect between the teaching and the participation. As a tutor I engage the kids I work with to make sure they are understanding the concepts. Working one on one helps in this sense because I know specifically what they may be having trouble with. As a student myself, I know sometimes work seems overwhelming and impossible at times. Taking things slow, breaking down a problem, and seeing where the real problem lies is how I approach most of my problems and is how I will try and tutor my clients.
