I'm a graduate of the University at Buffalo. I received my Masters degree in Urban Planning with a focus on Urban Design. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively (especially within Central America). In my experience, I was a teaching assistant at the University at Buffalo for an environmental design studio, I was also residential advisor (RA) and held various programs specifically arts and craft programs throughout the year. I am a firm believer in education and in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." The function of education is to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character- that is the true goal of education." This is also part of my intent and goal for each student. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, planting and hiking.

Learning is one of the most rewarding, useful, and fun things that a person can do. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students complete assigned tasks and get good grades, but also to understand why the material is important and how it can help them in life. If I can help a student to be motivated to learn, aspire to fulfill meaningful goals, and give them the tools they need to reach those goals, then I will consider the time that I have spent with them as a success.I graduated from University at Buffalo with a B.A. in Math and Economics and an M.S. in Economics with an advanced certificate in Finance. I now work at M&T Bank as a Credit Analyst. I aspire to start my own business next year.I try to put effort into improving at everything that I do because I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well. Some of my life achievements include, being an all county 1st singles player on my high school tennis team, improving my max bench press by 35lbs in 3 months, running a marathon, climbing a mountain, clearing a 40 feet long ski jump, ranking in the top 10 players in upstate NY in a video game, getting a job in my field immediately after college, being chosen to lead a project at work even though I am one of the newest people there, completing 3 college degrees in 5 years with a high GPA, working at least part time every year since I was in 10th grade, and ranking 1st every week in location accuracy and pulls per week as a backroom team member at Target. I am currently independently learning coding through codecademy.com and freecodecamp.com and am in the process of creating my own website. These things all resulted from the common theme of focused effort and a clear mindset for improvement. Improvement happens when you try to do something, fail, figure out what you're doing wrong, and try to fix it. Everyone can improve at everything if they stay focused, adapt their improvement methods, and try again. It's never too late. Some things take more time than others, but everything is achievable. If you have an idea of what you want to accomplish in the future, start now and you'll be much more likely to get to where you want to be.
I am a graduate of the University at Buffalo. I received a Master of Arts in Biology. While obtaining my degree, I created and ran my own internet website businesses. I also worked as a dental assistant in hopes of one day becoming a dentist. I love helping people and making them smile, especially if they are having a difficult time learning a specific concept or idea. My friends and family always come to me for help with science and math problems because I'm patient, fun, funny, understanding, and know how to explain topics in a wide variety of ways.My teaching style is unique. I first listen to my students and learn how they like to learn, and memorize new techniques and skills. After learning about my students, I devise strategies to best fit their study habits. I relate problems to what they like (always trying to make learning fun). I give students pointers on how to learn and thrive in an academic setting.Besides science and math I love sports, music (especially the drums), and cooking. I love all professional sports including football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. I play racquetball once a week and go to the gym daily. I've played the drums and percussion my whole life, and I love cooking for my friends and family.
I have a Bachelor's of Science degree as well as a Master's of Science degree in Applied Physiology. My educational experiences included numerous classes in biology, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and general sciences. While I was working towards my degrees I had a Teaching Assistantship, which meant I taught lab sessions and tutored my peers who needed extra help. I currently educate and mentor women with autoimmune diseases on how to reverse their autoimmune symptoms using various lifestyle shifts and discovering the root cause of their autoimmunity. I love helping people learn the information they need to know to better themselves, whether it's to improve their health, do well on an exam, or to simply improve their knowledge in the sciences.
To me, teaching provides an opportunity to motivate students to like the subject and to improve their performance through mentoring/advising. This is what inspired me to choose teaching as a career. What a nobler mission than being part of sustaining knowledge from one generation to the next!?I am a graduate of Alexandria University, with a B.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering. In addition, I received a Ph.D. degree from University at Buffalo, Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, in 2015. During that time, I have been working as a teaching assistant and a co-instructor for both undergrad and graduate students, for a broad range of subjects; including: applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, and programming. In addition, as a part-time, I have been a private tutor for middle- and high-school students for over 5 years.Although I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching: Calculus, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Physics, and Mechanics for all ages and to all levels. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and tutoring my kids!
I'm Dr. Zurisaday Moreno, a native Spanish speaker from Cuba with a PhD in Spanish am passionate about helping students grow in their love for the Spanish language, literature, and culture. I have taught Spanish at every level, from elementary school to university, including AP courses. My lessons are personalized and designed to build confidence through conversation, cultural exploration, literature, and real-world communication. Whether you're preparing for an exam, planning to travel, or lea
During college, I always enjoyed working with fellow students in learning material because often each person had a different perspective on certain concepts and this allowed me to view things differently which I always found quite helpful during school. As I moved to graduate school I took on teaching assistant roles in various courses. I found that working through problems with students was a very rewarding part of my graduate studies. This enjoyment lead me to pursue academics and I have been a tenured associate professor for almost 6 years teaching mostly in the Department of Chemistry at my College. I have taught various disciplines of chemistry including health professions related chemistry, general chemistry, upper level quantitative chemistry as well as the associated laboratory materials found in these courses. I look forward to sharing my knowledge in these subjects and hope I can provide you with the right guidance to excel in you studies.
I graduated at SUNY Buffalo with a PharmD in 2015 and I am licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New York. Subjects that I am the most comfortable teaching are math (up to Algebra 2), science (Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, etc), and certain languages (Korean, Japanese, French) at the beginner level. While dabbling in a few "teaching" experiences (teaching assistant for a course, Paint Nite instructor) I found that I do best in a 1-on-1 setting which tutoring fits the bill. My teaching style is incredibly laid-back and my end-goal is making sure that one is comfortable with me and also with learning the material. In my free time I like to knit, cook, draw/paint, as well as being an avid Redditor. My dream in life is to travel around the world and experience the culture (mostly the food) of different countries. I also am currently in the works to become a medical interpreter, combining the knowledge acquired from my degree with my passion for languages.
My goal is to help all students reach their academic goals by providing encouragement, assistance, and my professional experience in education. I believe all students should have the opportunity to perform academically to the best of their ability, given the proper tools and resources. I feel honored to guide students towards success!
I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea until I moved to the U.S. at the age of 19 to attend the State University of New York at Buffalo (University at Buffalo). I received my Bachelor of Arts in Media Study with a focus on Film & TV Production. Before graduating, I started my own film production company, where I've created music videos for various artists and commercials for such brands as Nike and Lotus Cars. I have also taught English in South Korea for two years. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Korean, and Filmmaking. I truly believe learning a language should be approached with the right amount of academia and the hands-on experience; I will provide a practical environment where students can learn the Korean culture, history, and expressions that they can't learn from the books. As I am extremely knowledgable in Entertainment industry both in America and South Korea, the entire class could be taught in Korean with such topics as K-CULTURE, K-POP, K-Drama, and K-Beauty. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, watching movies, and playing board games.
I currently work as a teaching assistant at Long Island University in Biological Sciences and Human Anatomy, which requires me to have "office hours" available in order to help students that are struggling. Tutoring students can be very simple and sometimes very complicated, but I always look for ways to make analogies to things students feel more comfortable with so it doesn't seem like I'm speaking a foreign language to them. I get a personal sense of satisfaction when someone stops and goes, "oh, I've never thought of it that way before - now it all makes sense." In addition, often times I feel the education system here is misunderstood and students spend too much time memorizing "steps" to a subject rather than learning it, and inevitably end up failing when they are required to utilize the knowledge in future, more advanced work. In my experience, proper explanations toward understand subjects builds a much more lasting impression and life-long knowledge than short-term exam preparation could ever achieve.
My goal as a tutor is to utilize my ten years of teaching experience to create thoughtful and engaging lesson plans that will meet the needs of each individual student I work with. I am reliable, dependable, and understand the value in building positive student relationships to increase motivation and work ethic.
My goal is to inspire students to strive for greatness at all levels of their lives. Whether that's simply for one assignment or an entire course, I will be there guiding them along with whatever difficulties lie ahead. At the same time, I hope that each student will allow me the opportunity to better improve myself as both an educator and as a person. I strive for perfection in everything I do, so I am always seeking to improve myself. At the end of the day, I will always take the time to assist each person that comes to me to the best of my abilities, and hopefully being tutored by me will be an enjoyable experience for each student.
I have been cultivating expertise in teaching since my high school education. My experience has included both formal teaching duties and informal conveyance of my knowledge and experience to my peers and juniors. The first time I had a notable teaching experience was when I taught the International Physics Olympiads Prep Team at a private high school for four semesters, during my junior and senior college education. I successfully designed a study curriculum, led a team of tutors in Physics, Math and Computational Science Olympiads and taught many gifted students. The year I moved to the States for my post-graduate career, I was happy to hear news of two of my students receiving medals in the National Olympiad. In the U.S., I designed and taught Precalculus, AP Calculus and SAT Math Prep courses in a private high school in New Jersey. Many of my students got scholarships from major U.S. universities. One of themeven got a perfect score in SAT Math the following year and enrolled in Duke University.Until I recently received my Ph.D., I continued to be involved in teaching activities as lecturing and tutoring college students for more than five years. I taught and lectured many different laboratory courses and lecture sessions such as Physics I: Mechanics, Physics II: Electricity and Magnetism, Mechanics Laboratory, Electricity and Magnetism Laboratory, Optics Laboratory, Modern Physics Laboratory and Quantum Physics. As of now, I have been teaching, formally and informally, for more than 13 years. Throughout my teaching life, I received outstanding evaluations from my students, in oral and written form. I believe my achievement as a teacher is a consequence of my enthusiasm about teaching and my teaching philosophy; that is to care for and respect the students and the topic to be taught.
Hi, my name is DaveI just finished university with a BA in math so this stuff is fresh on my mind. Even though I am a young guy I have a lot of experience tutoring especially in math.I was raised in New York so I know how crazy and stressful these regents can be and I know how to beat them.I'm happy to be tutoring for Varsity and I'd be happy to tutor your kid if you'd like me to.
I graduated from Binghamton State University in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Spanish. After completing my undergraduate studies, I moved back closer to home and continued on with Romance Languages and Literature Studies in graduate school. In 2012, I received my M.A. Degree from St. John's University, Queens, NY. Since 2012, I have been working toward a Ph.D. in Spanish at the University at Buffalo. At the University at Buffalo, I worked for 5 years as a Spanish language instructor to undergraduate students. This upcoming academic year I will be teaching Spanish in a private high school in Queens, New York.In terms of my teaching experience, I have also familiarized myself with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through teaching pedagogy courses as well as numerous pedagogical workshops. CLT has oriented my teaching toward a more daily, real-life usage of the language, while reducing its sometimes overwhelming grammatical load.
I am a graduate of the University of the State of New York. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and I have been teaching for 22 years. My teaching experience ranges from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. I taught middle school for 5 years, Kindergarten for 8 years, have been teaching Pre-Kindergarten for 9 years. I also teach summer school every year and the grades have ranged from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I believe that teaching and learning should incorporate elements of fun. It is through the fun and engagement that the children learn best. I absolutely love when I can see in a child's face that the knowledge has been gained. I am a firm believer in life-long learning. I never admit to knowing everything and will help a child to find an answer if I am unable to do so. This shows my students that I am also human. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, kayaking, swimming, cake decorating, and drawing/painting.
I love education. I received a B.A. in psychology as well as a B.A. in sociology at the University at Buffalo. I get so much pleasure and satisfaction from teaching and watching my students grow academically. Right now, I teach kindergarten, but I have taught preschool through Third grade and have also worked with middle and high school children. I also was a teaching assistant at the college level in Psychology and sociology. Phonics, reading, English, language arts, psychology and sociology are my specialties, however, I enjoy teaching any subject. Outside of the classroom, I love to go to the movies, enjoy live theater, read a good book, write, travel, or anything involving the arts. I look forward to helping you or your student reach their education goals!
Hey there,I am a recent graduate from the University at Buffalo receiving my bachelors in biological sciences. I have been tutoring for the past 13 years since I was a freshman in High School. My passion in life is sharing knowledge with the people around me. I hope to obtain my PhD in a few years in genetics. The human genome is a vast ocean of enigmas and finding out what precisely does what can help make great strides with future healthcare.Currently I tutor in Algebra 1 and 2, and of course Biology. With me as a tutor I hope to connect with my students about how easy the work can become with a little practice. Not all students are the same and thankfully there are many ways I can help the students excel with a little hard work. One of the greatest feelings I get is when you explain the subject to a student and they have this look of "I get it". It just shows the passion one puts into the work he or she does."I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." -Mewtwo
I am an enthusiatic Nurse by trade and have extensive experience working as a writing tutor through college. My first love in life is education, so working as a tutor seemed like the right course of action to augment my studies to become a Family Nurse Practitioner and my Doctorate in Nursing. I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals as I work toward mine!
People always ask me why I chose to become a teacher. The truth is that I always knew. Ever since I was a little girl, my mother would always find me with all my toys lined up in front of me, and me in front of a chalkboard teaching them how to draw. There is really nothing like teaching. I think it is the most gratifying profession in the world. I absolutely love the outcome of what I do because I believe in long lasting relationships and long lasting thirst for knowledge. That is exactly what I teach my students. I teach them that the sky is the limit and that "I can't" should not be a part of their vocabulary. I am great at seeing the potential in everyone and not giving up until they see it too and live up to it.For the past 7 years, I have been a part of a wonderful community while working as a High School I.B. Art Teacher for the American School of Quito in Ecuador. I worked with 11th and 12th graders on the production of high quality art production, careful planning, reflection and written critical analysis with creative problem solving skills. This job has brought enormous opportunities for professional and personal growth. Being part of this demanding program has been very challenging but also filled with rewards. Making students' faces light up when their hard efforts pay off and they finally "get it", is priceless! My I.B. annual scores have always been above world average. My students have participated in national and international art contests with magnificent results with prizes and awards. I have formed an amazing bond with them that, I am sure, will last a lifetime. I still have students who I taught 7 years ago, tell me that what I taught them has stayed with them all these years. And like I said, that is what teaching is all about. That is why I became a teacher.I have good conflict resolution skills, I am patient, I am fair and I have enthusiastic energy. I believe I am qualified for a teaching job within your community and I will make a valuable addition to your team.
My name is Van An Tran. I graduated from University at Buffalo with a Biomedical Engineering major. During my time in colleges, I worked as a tutor and helped other students in pre-calculus and sciences, especially in physics. I have experience working as a tutor in two different colleges, one at Seattle Central College in Seattle, Washington State for one and a half year, one at Lone Star College in Houston, Texas for one semester. Most of students I have taught at these colleges are college levels. Moreover, I worked as part time tutor for Mathnasium Online which has base in Orlando, Florida. At this center, I tutored students in different levels, including: elementary school, middle school, and high school, and I mostly tutor them from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. Right now, I'm studying nursing at UCF. I'm confident that I can use my ability and knowledge to help other students improve in study.
Current student at the honors college of University at Buffalo, working towards a B.S. in Biological Sciences. I specialize in Biology and Mathematics and believe in working to strengthen students' ability to form instinctive connections within course material. I have worked in a research lab studying the role of disrupted axonal transport in progression of neurodegenerative diseases. Currently, I spend my spare time shadowing doctors to gain experience for Med School. Outside of academics I am interested in dance, skiing, and backpacking.
I am currently a senior at SUNY University at Buffalo. I am working towards a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in education, and I hope to become a high school chemistry teacher in the future. Though I am most passionate about chemistry, I also tutor English literature/language, pre-algebra, and algebra. In addition to tutoring, I have worked as a teaching assistant for two courses in college. One belief of mine that has formed the foundation of my teaching philosophy is that education becomes something truly special once a student applies both the lessons and thinking skills they've learned in their daily life. This is achieved not only by providing active, engaging education but by empathizing and relating with students as well.
I specialize in tutoring History subjects.
I am a high school English teacher in South Florida. I love working with students to see the light bulb go off when they finally get the concept we are learning. I hope to help you do the same!
Mathematics was a subject that I had struggled with during my primary and secondary education. I know how frustrating math can be, but with little encouragement and help, anyone can succeed in math.Even though my struggles with math through out the high school years, today Im a certified math teacher and tutor math. I have over 7 years of experience and I love every second of it.I specialize in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & 2, Geometry and Test Prep (SAT and ACT Math). Every student has different needs and abilities. After assessing each student, (how they learn, what are their needs and abilities), I customize each lessons to address students needs and to build his/her confidence.
I am very excited to have the chance to work with students preparing for the PSAT, the SAT, or the LSAT! While I'm originally from Connecticut, I attended college and law school in Buffalo, New York. While there, I worked for a test prep agency helping students prepare for the SAT and the LSAT. In 2003, I moved to Richmond. I worked with the Virginia Department of Taxation for 7 years doing policy work and assisting with the legislative process. In 2011, I began working for Bryant and Stratton College, where I taught students in the Paralegal Studies program. I loved helping my students prepare for new careers. I can't wait to work with you and help you succeed as well!
I am a dedicated educator who finds immense joy in guiding students toward academic success and fostering their growth. With a passion for teaching and a strong background in aerospace engineering, I am committed to empowering students to excel in their studies and reach their full potential.Throughout my academic journey at the University at Buffalo (UB), I have had the privilege of working closely with students in various capacities. As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Fluid Mechanics and Dynamics, I facilitated learning by conducting enlightening office hours and meticulously evaluating assignments. These experiences have allowed me to connect with students, address their questions, and provide them with the support they need to grasp challenging concepts. My education has been marked by a pursuit of excellence, culminating in my pursuit of a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering. My goal is to delve into advanced research and contribute innovative solutions to fluid control and related technologies. As a tutor, I offer expertise in a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, engineering, and physics. However, my true passion lies in guiding students through the intricacies of these subjects, enabling them to develop a deep understanding and a love for learning. My teaching philosophy is rooted in fostering a collaborative and interactive learning environment. I believe in tailoring my approach to each student's unique learning style, encouraging active participation, and promoting critical thinking. I strive to instill in my students a sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, helping them not only excel academically but also develop essential skills that will serve them well beyond their academic pursuits. In summary, my journey as an aerospace engineering graduate student at UB has fueled my passion for teaching and mentoring. Guided by a commitment to excellence and an aspiration to contribute to technological advancements, I am dedicated to helping students thrive academically. Through personalized instruction, an interactive teaching style, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning, I aim to inspire and empower the next generation of scholars and innovators.
I recently graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BS in Business Administration. My junior and senior year of college I worked as a tutor and primarily taught college level macroeconomics, microeconomics and statistics. I have worked with over 40 students and have learned that each student needs to work at their own pace and take a different approach to our sessions. I incorporate study skills and test taking stechniques into y tutoring sessions because it is important that students can use these skills in other subjects as well. I know that I have done my job when a student calls me at the end of semester excited to tell me how well their final exam went. If you or your child needs help with economics, math or general study skills to keep the material fresh this summer I would be glad to work with you.
I first became interested in Chinese language, history, and culture when I watched Once Upon a Time in China starring Jet Li in high school. Although now I realize that the movie was in Cantonese, back then I was fascinated by the country and decided to start learning Mandarin in college.I have been studying Mandarin for 6 years. I received my BA in Asian Studies from the University at Buffalo in 2015. One year later, I obtained my graduate certificate from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in China. In this program, I attended 7 classes on various academic subjects in which the language of instruction was Mandarin. While still a student of advanced Mandarin myself, I can tutor elementary and intermediate Mandarin, particularly with simplified characters. In my spare time, I write articles on developments in Chinese and Nepali relations on LinkedIn in both Chinese and English.Because Mandarin is one of the most difficult languages in the world, I take an engaging yet relevant approach to teaching. For example, I try to use equivalent sounds in the English language to practice pronunciation. I also describe images to help others remember the Chinese characters.I also enjoy playing the violin, video games, and different Chinese and Western card games.
I graduated from Harry S. Truman high school in 2015. I am currently studying Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, where I am planning to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. I am fairly experienced working with grade school and high school students in their math and science classes. When I was in those grades, I would assist the teacher by tutoring their students who are struggling in the class, whether that's just help with their homework or and extensive review of the material we learned in class. I also helped many of my peers prepare for the New York Regents exams. I helped them prepare for the Chemistry, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Algebra Regents. These along with basic math and science concepts are my favorite to help students because these are the subjects I excel at. These subjects interest me the most and I hope to use these subjects in my future field of work.I can teach in many ways and will always adjust my style to fit the students needs. I do tend to teach in way that allows the student to learn their own process of thinking while using me a resource if they are having trouble. I like to do this by facilitating the student through practice problems without giving any real answers. This allows the student to understand the material as well as build their confidence to tackle a problem all on their own.Outside of school, I like to do many to unwind such as go for a run or some form of exercise. I enjoy drawing, reading, and even video games. I always like to learn about new hobbies to keep me from ever being bored.
I have been called a professor, a teacher, a tutor, and a coach; but I prefer to be known as an educator. In each of these roles that I've played what remains most important to me are the lessons that transcend the subject. While a passing grade or a high score is a laudable accomplishment, I believe real praise should be reserved for the process. In my view, approaching a task with integrity constitutes a greater victory than any possible result. Self-reliance, a positive attitude, the benefits of practice, being responsible: these lessons enable students to succeed in both an immediate and long-term sense. These are the lessons that will empower students to better themselves in the classroom and outside of it. If I do my job correctly, my students will come to recognize that they do not need me to accomplish what they've set out to do.I have the pedigree to teach at the highest levels. I have a doctorate in Comparative Literature, I have been an instructor at the university level for eight years, I have taught internationally, and I have assisted students of all ages in everything from physics to philosophy. It has been a great privilege to have the opportunities that I have had to develop myself within this vocation. I believe, however, that my qualifications would mean little if they were not complimented by a passionate dedication to education. I feel honored to be placed in a position to help people grow, not simply as students, but as citizens of this world.
Help others to reach their their goals and dreams through success is something very important for me not just as tutor but as a person. Learn something new some times is very difficult for some students, be patient is key to understanding how to help others.Love and light first is the success in every person.
I love tutoring Latin, Greek, and English. I strive to be attentive to how my students express themselves and always aim to present material in a way that is in sync with how they learn. This has allowed students I've worked with to feel comfortable opening up about their interests and frustrations with me so that I can make a subject more relevant to them and create more motivation to learn. I always try to gear the way I teach to my students' learning styles and make them feel less self-conscious and more confident about making mistakes and explaining their thought process. I am good at convincing my students that they will see more rewards from their persistence. I have worked with several students who were scoring in the seventies on tests and quizzes when I started working with them who then began to see dramatic results with scores in the nineties in a fairly short time.I make use of various tools like mnemonic devices and English word derivatives to make vocabulary and form-memorization easier. I also have students draw charts showing the patterns and similarities among various noun and verb endings they need to know so they can truly master these fundamentals of the language.Though I went on to earn a degree in Latin and Greek literature in college, I really think my passionate interest in this subject was nurtured and allowed to thrive because of the extremely solid foundation I received in Latin grammar from one outstanding high school teacher. I hope to emulate his outstanding teaching ability and allow others to succeed the way he allowed me.I've tutored students in Latin and Greek for over 10 years. I received a perfect score on the National Latin Exam and Latin SAT II and am familiar with preparing students for these exams, as well as for AP Latin. Some highlights of my educational and teaching background are that I've graduated from Reginald Foster's demanding program in Rome for the practice of oral Latin and daily sight reading and obtained my B.A. with honors in Greek and Latin literature. I also did post-graduate training with Dr. Stephen Daitz, the foremost scholar on the classical pronunciation of ancient Greek and Latin. I received an award for being the highest ranking student in Greek and Latin Literature in my college's classics department. I am a former member of the American Classical League and have attended some of their national conferences and seminars on the teaching of Latin. I also have experience creating educational materials for intermediate students of Latin online for a website that publishes full length texts in foreign languages and uses editors to write different types of explanatory material and educational glosses to aid students' reading.I look forward to helping you meet your specific goals.
I am a hard worker and a passionate person. I have always believed that we all need help sometimes and there is no greater feeling than having an eureka moment after a friend or tutor helps you understand a confusing subject.I am here to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
I earned my Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University at Buffalo in New York. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Inha University in Incheon, South Korea. To further specialize in Korean language instruction, I completed the Korean Language Teachers Training Program for Foreigners at the Language Education Institute of Seoul National University in February 2010. Additionally, I was awarded the Certificate of Korean Language Teacher by the Korean government on February 7, 2014, which formally qualifies me to teach Korean as a second language.

Soon after becoming licensed to practice law in Ohio, I began instructing students on how to perform well on the Law School Admissions test. I know the strategies and techniques that will help you perform well on that exam, or any other.Prior to law school, I studied philosophy. It's a passion of mine: helping us understand how to think and how the world is constructed around us.In addition to practicing law, I am a Certified Yoga Instructor, Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, and personal trainer. I love helping people feel strong mentally, and physically. That is why I tutor and train.I am full of enthusiasm and patience, and will not hesitate to play a song when things look daunting, and try to make you dance to it:)We've got this! Let's get to work.
I am a college graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering. During my four and a half years of undergraduate education at the University at Buffalo, I tutored students at a math learning center on campus. Before starting, I took a tutoring certification course with Crossroads of Learning. Since then, I have tutored in both one-on-one and group settings. I have tutored many subjects in mathematics including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I am very passionate about learning, and believe that each student is capable of learning any subject that they desire to learn. Because I love learning so much, I enjoy being able to be a part of the process for students that happen to struggle in certain subjects. I understand that every student has a different learning style. I try to discover what methods work best for each student I tutor, and I tailor my teaching style to that particular student's needs. In addition to mathematics and puzzles, music is a large part of my life. In my free time, I write music. I play the guitar and banjo, as well as read and write poetry. Since graduating, I have been working as an intern at a recording studio in Manhattan. While there, I learn about the very intricate arts of recording and mixing.
In addition to receiving a B.A. in English from the University at Buffalo, I am a graduate of Deep Springs College: an elite liberal arts program located in Eastern California. Unlike most schools, the admission process to Deep Springs involves writing - and later defending before a panel of staff, faculty and students - seven essays on a variety of subjects including literature, philosophy, and education. Once admitted to Deep Springs, students are typically required to read upwards of 100 pages per day from authors such as Hegel, Joyce, and Thucydides; and to write several essays per week, which are peer-critiqued in seminar classes. I plan to bring my depth of experience in reading, critical analysis, and writing to each tutoring session in order to help students achieve their goals in these areas.
