Tutoring review by Andrea in Lyons, IL
The student and I worked on her trigonometry homework. She was very good at identifying whether to use sin, cosine, or tangent to determine angles or lengths of a triangle, and she was adept at using her calculator's functions. Her only room for improvement in this regard is visualizing the word problems in order to correctly place the values/distances. In general, she has done very well this semester and had an overall B, replacing her previous grade. Well done!

The student has a math test tomorrow on measurements - converting units, understanding the relationship between angle measurements with coterminal sides. She felt very confident after the review in class today, so we focused on her vacation math homework and state prep review. Her math vacation homework was in the format of state test multiple choice questions for math. She whizzed through a couple dozen questions. We also looked at some science multiple choice questions, which she felt proud that she knew the answers.

Today we worked on a type of proof of some equations. The student was having a hard time implementing the procedure at first, but we did some practice and I showed her some ways to simplify equations that helped her prove two things were equal a little easier.

Tutoring review by Leah in Lyons, IL
Today the student and I went over the feedback that she received for her project outline, which I also provided feedback on before it was submitted. The comments that were made were similar in that, she has some great facts about the case, but the grade could be improved by (explicitly) relating all of this information back to the case and topic at hand. I think she is clearer on what this feedback entails, and I feel confident that she will be able to address this issue in the next draft. We also worked on the rebranding case she will need to create. We discussed a few different examples, breaking them down in order to identify some of the considerations that need to be made when she creates her own rebranding strategy. I think that by going through this process, she will be able to utilize a similar approach to the talking points assignment that she has to do.

Tutoring review by Earl in Lyons, IL
Today, the student and I reviewed homework only. His homework was in social studies and science. He was able to complete his homework with almost no assistance, and I checked all of his work, and the answers were correct. Today's session was very simple, and he seems to be doing well in all of his subjects, as well as the tutoring session. I am very pleased.
