Latin Tutoring review by Devin in South Jordan, UT
The students played baseball, collected insects, and attempted to build a bird's cage out of sticks. We learned Spanish vocabulary surrounding all of these activities.

Latin Tutoring review by Julio in South Jordan, UT
The subjunctive mood was covered today. The student did some oral activities from the book. Her Spanish pronunciation is better. She talked briefly about the movie "Hombre mirando al sudeste" and wrote five sentences using the verb "Ir + a." She needs to finish watching the movie "Hombre mirando al sudeste" and memorize all vocabulary reviewed till now.

This session was spent preparing the student's speech for a Spanish Toastmasters group that he has joined. We reviewed what he had already prepared, addressing grammar, pronunciation, and parts of speech. We then built onto his speech and worked on using the various tenses he has recently been focusing on. He did a great job discussing his autobiography of his path to becoming a lawyer and then his passions in hunting and fishing, while utilizing humor and captivating storytelling to endear himself to his audience during his 5-7 minute icebreaker. Awesome session!!

Latin Tutoring review by Jacob in South Jordan, UT
This was a great session! The student is making marvelous progress. We reviewed her homework, which consisted of -ar verb conjugations within sentences. Then we talked about what she did over the summer. We need to work on vocabulary, so I assigned her to write, translate, and study a list of words she uses regularly.

Latin Tutoring review by Courtney in South Jordan, UT
This was my first meeting with the student. We discussed his last year of school and what's in store for this year. School begins in about a month. Between now and then, I've asked the student to meet with me two times per week. We'll spend part of the time reviewing Spanish from last year and the other part working on organization strategies. He is a visual and a kinesthetic learner, so I'll be incorporating ways to manage his time and school work to best benefit these learning modalities.

Latin Tutoring review by Adriana in South Jordan, UT
This was my first meeting with this student. I wanted to know how comfortable she was in speaking Spanish. She can read Spanish, but needs confidence in speaking the language. She is taking the AP Spanish test, and I was able to do an informal assessment on the understanding of the material that will be tested, since she had an AP workbook that she will be using in class. After talking and reading some of the passages, I recommend that she read in Spanish to supplement her homework. She needs to read more fiction and nonfiction to prepare her for the test. We are going to start with the Spanish translation of the Harry Potter series, which she said she enjoyed reading. The first half hour will be dedicated to helping her with her homework and building vocabulary. The second half hour will be dedicated to reading out loud so that she can develop her reading skills. I will provide the Potter book so that she can read it.
