Chemistry Tutoring review by Krystal in Worcester, MA
Last night we discussed hyperbolas. The topic was just introduced to the student. He has the concept down. I gave him more practice and extended the context further. Before I left, I gave him 2 worksheets to complete. The student told me that he made a 83 on his chemistry exam from last week. He has not gotten his grade back in Algebra. But his Chemistry and Algebra grades have increased for the overall quarter. I feel that he is on track to have an excellent quarter.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Michael in Worcester, MA
In this session, the student and I further discussed VSEPR geometries, and also talked about predicting deltaH from bond energies. We also reviewed bond energy problems stemmed from making good Lewis structures, which he is quite adept at. When we moved to the geometries, he found these problems particularly easy. The teacher had allowed him to use a simple sheet with all the various geometries on them, which helped for him to verify, and also reference when checking bond angles in different situations. He has his test this Friday, so I'm eager to see how well he will do, given his easy grasp of the material.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Meghan in Worcester, MA
During the first part of this session, I helped the student better understand radical reactions, more specifically the ones that occur in the atmosphere and lead to global warming. We then talked about the light spectrum and practiced problems using the energy equations with plank's constant, the speed of light, wavelength and frequency. Finally, we practiced problems with naming compounds as well as drawing the compound when given the name. This was all to prepare for a quiz she has tomorrow.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Eduard in Worcester, MA
This was my first session with this student. I went over topics that are typically covered during the first few weeks of the course, including significant figures and their operations, scientific notation, density, uncertainty in measurements, etc. He had a pretty good grasp of the topics and I gave him extra practice problems on the topics that we had covered. I will meet with him next week and we will go over the material that he learned in class. Overall he was able to focus and learn what we went over.

Chemistry Tutoring review by James in Worcester, MA
The student and I discussed electron configurations in depth during our most recent session. In addition, we reviewed some previously assigned homework problems. He had some questions about identifying the ionic charge of atoms in ionic compounds. Moreover, he benefited from guidance in writing the proper chemical formulas of ionic compounds. Given adequate support, he showed renewed enthusiasm towards completing the tasks and applying the skills needed to understand bonding and atomic structure.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Moses in Worcester, MA
We covered unit conversions in chemistry. He needed help with the mathematical conversions of units with prefixes such as milli, centi, kilo, etc. to other units specified. I systematically explained to him everything he need to do to solve questions relating or regarding to unit conversions. I left him with extra practice homework from the textbook.
