Session Summaries by Languages Tutors

Languages Tutoring review by Gabriel in Worcester, MA
The student has shown immense improvement with his pronunciation of words using the letters of the alphabet and vowels in Spanish. When asked to read words, his ability to do so has improved from past sessions because he now understands vowel sounds since we have been working on that. He needs to work on writing coherent sentences in Spanish. Next lesson will include additional practice of writing sentences. He has gotten much better at using different verbs, nouns, and words in sentences.

Languages Tutoring review by Ariel in Worcester, MA
We did some studying and review for the student's upcoming quiz on Tuesday that will cover reflexive verbs and the preterit tense. He seemed pretty strong on conjugating verbs in the preterit, so we focused most on reviewing reflexive verbs. We did some practice sentences and talked about how to conjugate reflexive verbs (ex. divertirse, lavarse, etc.) and how to place them in a sentence. I also spent some time quizzing him on the meanings of the different verbs. This is probably where he needs most work: remembering the definitions of the reflexive verbs. I recommended he memorize them by writing them out, practice using them in sentences, and use flashcards. I was really impressed by how well he knew his irregular preterit conjugations! Looking forward to next week!

We discussed what types of assistance the student might need for his Japanese class. According to him, he had a difficulty in Katakana, Kanji and some grammar. Then we also discussed about some learning method how to master those areas. We made some plans for next session and will start attacking them one by one.
