I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business from University of San Francisco and my Master's Degree in Accountancy from Baruch College in New York City. I used to work as the program assistant for the language department and my responsibility was helping students register for the HSK, the Chinese proficiency test. I currently work as a Certified Public Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, but I still volunteer to teach at public schools in New York whenever I have time because I found myself really enjoy teaching and learning about students at the same time. In addition, with my experience in tutoring Mandarin during both undergraduate and graduate studies, I believe I can help students speak fluent Mandarin Chinese as well as understand Chinese culture.As we know, Mandarin Chinese is a challenging language. During my tutorials, I have heard countless kids say "I didn't get that at all when Mr X taught it in class, but when YOU explained it it was so simple!"At the same time, tutoring is not magic. In particular, a tutor cannot do much with a student who is fundamentally unmotivated, although I have learned ways to build motivation given adequate time.
