Hello, my name is Josiah and I would love to be your tutor! My main subject is Spanish, as I am fully bilingual an currently work as a Spanish-English interpreter at a professional level. I also have a passion for historical subjects ranging from basic social studies to world history. I maintain a reading regiment at a high level in order to stay abreast of current events, as well as to maintain my understanding of current and past sociological trends.

Plant biology has been my passion since for as long as I can remember. Spending a year of my childhood on a farm, I was able to spend time in TN forests, and the variety of different plant life always fascinated me. Eventually I would grow up to translate this fascination into an interest in genetics: what makes these structures work? Why do we not know everything about genetics when this field is integral to the process of every living thing? The answers are quite complicated.My aim as a tutor is to incite a curiosity in students as well as to sharpen critical thinking skills when examining basic and complex science subjects. It isn't easy navigating the biological and genetic processes behind living structures, in fact, even scientists admit that we are far from "having everything figured out", but I hope to assist students make a transition into scientific thinking and understanding.

I am a current civil engineering graduate at Stony Brook University. I enjoy helping students in my free time, especially those with interests associated with STEM, to understand the material they are learning in their academics.I am also a current tunnel engineering intern for Mott MacDonald, and am in the process of obtaining my EIT, as I passed my FE - Civil Exam in the fall of 2022!

At the age of 19 I graduated from Ohio University with my Bachelor's in English Literature & Writing. Since then, I have tutored hundreds of students online from the ages of 5 to 16. I love helping students to discover a passion and purpose for academics in their lives, while helping them to meet the standards necessary to progress their learning. I am a graduate of Springfield College. I received my Bachelor of Science in Dance and Nutrition. During my college years, I volunteered as a tutor for students from the middle school level to adults. Since graduation, I moved to Florida where I started my career in teaching and obtained my teaching certification. My first three years I worked as a pre-school teacher, and the last eight years I have been a high school teacher, having taught Spanish I, II, III, and AP Spanish.While I have tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the Spanish language, because I am a native speaker from Puerto Rico.In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests and/or classes, we always seem to enjoy each others company while creating positive results. I graduated from St. John's University with summa cum laude. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology and I am currently applying to medical schools. Throughout college, I have tutored numerous immigrant children all over New York in subjects such as Science and English, and I taught English to adults who immigrated from South America. While I can tutor a wide range of subjects, I am very passionate and eager to teach all levels of Biology and English. In my experience the English language can be very challenging to grasp, yet with the right mindset and consistent study it is very much possible! I'm eighteen years old, and I'm about to start my freshman year as a Musical Theatre major at Oklahoma City University. After being born in Colombia and living here in the United States, I've become completely fluent in both Spanish and English, which has helped me quite a bit in finding different ways to help my students solve problems and overcome issues. As a recent high school graduate, I understand how teenagers feel about school and studying, and it's easy for me to relate to that. It's comforting for teenagers to work with someone who knows what it's like to be a high school student, so it's easier for me to connect with them. In my free time I enjoy playing music, singing, watching films, and reading a good book.

I am a recent graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, where I majored in Political Science and Mandarin Chinese. This past year I studied abroad and worked in China with the Chinese Flagship Program. I love studying history, languages, literature, and writing, and when I'm not helping students as a tutor, you can find me swing dancing, listening to jazz music, experimenting with vegan baking, and walking my dog.
