I'm passionate about education and have been teaching for 20 years!!I'm invested in student success with a special interest in development of reading and math skills.Specifically, I believe that students who can build solid independent phonemic awareness, word decoding and recognition have a stronger foundation in Education to build upon for future success in all areas of the curriculum.I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education/ Reading from Mount Union and a Master's in Education Administration from Youngstown State. I also have my PK-5 Intervention Specialist/Special Education certification and Principal Certification.I've taught in various elementary and middle school positions including general and special education as well as title.I've tutored children in all content areas.I have 6+ years experience creating lessons and teaching online in the virtual education environment in addition to my experience in the face to face classroom. I have been a professional teacher, translator and interpreter of Italian and French for over 20 years. A graduate of both the Ohio State University and Youngstown State University (2003 and 2007), in both Italian and French Linguistics Summa Cum Laude, I've dedicated my time and life to the study and promotion of Language Learning and Education. As an Educator I've taught all levels in several schools across the U.S. and for nearly a decade taught in the Department of Defense Education Activity overseas located in Italy and France. Among my several certifications from various American and European Institutes, my areas of concentration include: usage of technology in the flipped classroom, adapting curriculum for the multi-disciplined classroom and creating a rigorous but welcoming classroom environment and experience for students of all backgrounds and age groups. I am an enthusiastic learner and highly enjoy promoting the philosophy of constant improvement and progression to my students. Teaching and tutoring has always been a passion of mine. My first job was a tutoring position and it only helped my drive to help others understand concepts and apply them to any problems. As a senior in high school, I created my own sessions to help students successfully take the reading comprehension part of the SAT. Ever since I have been actively involved in helping students ranging from elementary school to college in subject areas such as math, science, reading, English, and writing. I completed my undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University and graduated with my bachelors in science. I then went on to obtain my masters in public health at Case Western. Education is and foremost the most important part of my life and I know that in order to help students learn, I have to first understand their strengths and drawbacks. I believe with my perspective, I can quickly help and foster understanding in all the students whom I will have the opportunity to tutor.

Teaching and Learning is my life's work. I enjoy helping learners become scholars and scholars become academics. My love for tutoring, teaching and learning comes from my experiences as a first generation college scholar and 15 years of experiences working with central-city and at-risk youth. From learners in primary grades to Adult-English Language Learners to first generation college scholars, my goal is to promote growth and empower my learners and scholars to achieve their academic goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading historical fiction and informational material, blogs, editorials, articles etc. etc. etc. that enriches my life and expands my knowledge. I also enjoy attending Bodypump, Zumba and other group fitness classes, watching and attending collegiate and high school athletic events, playing lacrosse, pick-up basketball, coaching football and learning. I have always loved learning, especially math. Math is a constant puzzle that you have to try to figure out and I have always enjoyed the challenge. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Youngstown State University, and since then, have tutored numerous individuals in a variety of different math levels ranging from elementary math to College level math courses including College Algebra and Calculus 2. Given my extensive math background, I am able to provide helpful tips, information and explanations to students.
