I am a Masters level Therapist. I have undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. My Master's degree is in Social Work. I have worked in the field for 20 years, holding various positions in my agency. Although I can tutor in many subjects, my strengths are greatest in statistics, Psychology and other Social Sciences. I enjoy these subjects and love to see the person I am helping love the field as much as I do. My goal is not just to get you to learn the subject matter, but to understand it. This eliminates having to memorize and recall for test taking.

As a student, I understand how difficult school can be. Breaking down difficult concepts to more basic, understandable ideas can make all the difference. Learning should be tailored to one's needs, and classrooms cannot always teach that way. I look forward to helping students work to their full potential, and make the learning process easy.In terms of experience, I have been tutoring for 6 years now, with ages ranging from kindergarten through second-year college students.
I am a goal driven person who aspires to become a physician one day. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience tutoring K-12, as well as college level courses. I can tutor any school course but specialize in math and science. I believe learning should be fun. I don't believe learning should be dull or boring. I believe we all retain better when we enjoy what we're being taught.
Hello! My name is Ian Kinnaman. I have been a private tutor for over 5 years and I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Youngstown State University. I have worked with students aged 5-20 and would love to work with you!
Teaching and tutoring has always been a passion of mine. My first job was a tutoring position and it only helped my drive to help others understand concepts and apply them to any problems. As a senior in high school, I created my own sessions to help students successfully take the reading comprehension part of the SAT. Ever since I have been actively involved in helping students ranging from elementary school to college in subject areas such as math, science, reading, English, and writing. I completed my undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University and graduated with my bachelors in science. I then went on to obtain my masters in public health at Case Western. Education is and foremost the most important part of my life and I know that in order to help students learn, I have to first understand their strengths and drawbacks. I believe with my perspective, I can quickly help and foster understanding in all the students whom I will have the opportunity to tutor.
I am a third year clinical medical student here in Michigan and am working towards my MD. I am originally from Ohio and graduated from YSU with a BS. I have experience tutoring mostly science subjects at the YSU peer tutor center. I am especially proficient in physics, general chemistry, biology, and biochemistry. My favorite is general chemistry because I enjoy how easy the problems become once you learn how to break them down. My teaching philosophy in general is to break complicated concepts down to the basics, and then have the student teach back to me. I do ask that my students confirm all sessions within 24 hours of start time, just as I will always give a 24 hour notice to you in case I have a change of plans and need to reschedule. This way, I can distribute my time with all students effectively. With my free time I enjoy hiking, playing with my dog, and watching movies.
Discipline has always been an important word and concept to me. I've always thought of how great a passion for learning can become when one applies themselves to practice and understanding. What is even greater is when one can find a friend or mentor that can help them achieve even more. I love to learn and I love to teach! If you're serious about reaching your goals, whatever they may be, I will support and encourage you as much as I can!
Helping students learn is my passion!
I earned my undergrad degree at YSU in education. In addition, I earned my Masters in Education at Capella University. My passion is in helping students aspire to and beyond their goals. There is no better gratification than the excitement when child "gets it!". My favorite subject to teach is English Language Arts.
I love to see the light bulb click on. When the student finally grasps, understands, and comprehends the math after so much struggle makes it rewarding for both.
As a tutor for 20+ years, I bring ample experience and knowledge. I specialize in standardized testing (MCAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, & more), medical school and pre-med courses, and undergraduate STEM subjects. A former medical school student and Master of Public Health, I opted for what truly brings me joy: tutoring, teaching, and guiding students to lifelong academic success.
I have always loved learning, especially math. Math is a constant puzzle that you have to try to figure out and I have always enjoyed the challenge. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Youngstown State University, and since then, have tutored numerous individuals in a variety of different math levels ranging from elementary math to College level math courses including College Algebra and Calculus 2. Given my extensive math background, I am able to provide helpful tips, information and explanations to students. After tutoring for 4+ years, I believe that all students can become confident in their math abilities given the support they need to succeed.I provide tutoring for any math subject, as well as essay editing, in the online format.
