I'm passionate about education and have been teaching for 20 years!!I'm invested in student success with a special interest in development of reading and math skills.Specifically, I believe that students who can build solid independent phonemic awareness, word decoding and recognition have a stronger foundation in Education to build upon for future success in all areas of the curriculum.I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education/ Reading from Mount Union and a Master's in Education Administration from Youngstown State. I also have my PK-5 Intervention Specialist/Special Education certification and Principal Certification.I've taught in various elementary and middle school positions including general and special education as well as title.I've tutored children in all content areas.I have 6+ years experience creating lessons and teaching online in the virtual education environment in addition to my experience in the face to face classroom. Currently, I'm an Intervention Specialist in a public school district and tutoring in my free time.I look forward to working with your child!! :)

As a professional in the psychology field, I believe that each person should be treated with "unconditional positive regard," that is, to be supported and accepted without judgement. I believe in collaboration, teamwork, and positive communication. My teaching style incorporates a diversity of teaching methodologies and techniques that can include hands-on learning.
I have been assisting and teaching students since my teaching assistant days back in 6th grade. From there, I went to Youngstown State University in Northeast Ohio and obtained my teaching degree in grades 4-9 math, social studies, and reading.I have taught in the classroom (online and in person) 5 years to date with my degree and several more before I graduated, ranging from Kindergarten all the way up to 9th. Nothing can ever replace the the memories of each and every student that has walked through my door. I truly believe every student can learn, given a welcoming environment that allows them to try new things, fail at others, and explore the world around them.Currently, I am teaching 8th grade Algebra and general mathematics as well as a Life Skills Math course in a district in Ohio. I love the small town feel, and it's a new challenge everyday.I love to teach math. Something about arriving at the right answer makes me feel complete after seeing all my hard work scribbled down on a board. Social studies is another passion of mine. We wouldn't be where we are today without where we've been and what we have learned from it. Social studies also nurtures map as well as money and finance skills in our everyday life.I look forward to working with new students/clients and assisting them with their work!
