About Pawtucket

Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is the fourth-largest city in the US's smallest state. There are over 71,000 residents in the city, which shares a border with Massachusetts. It was one of the most popular places in colonial days, and was a center for manufacturing muskets and ships, thanks to its location near the Blackstone River and the upper Narragansett Bay. Now, the city has a comprehensive plan to support arts and culture, which has led to a thriving community.

Education is overseen by the Pawtucket School Department. There are ten elementary schools, three junior high schools, and four senior high schools in the public district. Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing & Visual Arts, and Blackstone Academy Charter School are two high schools in the district nationally recognized for their excellence. We also talked about unit conversions: how to convert units within the same system of measurement, how to convert units that were areas or volumes, and how to convert units between different systems of measurements. The student will work on some review for systems of equations and conversion problems.

We covered concepts involving factorization and the use of the FOIL method to simplify polynomial expressions. This included parabolics and higher order polynomials. We covered in detail how to factor, and worked many problems for understanding. We will still need more practice to fully understand the methodology.
