I am a teacher, a parent and a grandparent and I enjoy working with students. I look forward to working with students to help them become successful in their goals. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education in Special Education. As an educator I have been in the teaching field for more than 25 years and I feel I have collected an abundance of knowledge and experience. I love working with preschoolers, K-4 grades and some after school aged students in grade 6. Along the way I have gained a great appreciation for the different aspects of education. I find education challenging and rewarding. I enjoy expanding my teaching abilities to include all students willing to learn and grow. My favorite subject is Reading. I know some students find reading hard but once they can learn new words and make sense out the idea of what the author is trying to say, they will start to understand what things mean and their minds will open to wanting to read and learn more. My philosophy is the be kind and show respect and to never give up. My passion is that every child can learn with the proper tools and technique all children can be successful. In my spare time I enjoy movies, working on being healthy, water exercises, walking and reading books. Books can take you to amazing and fabulous places.

Learning doesn't have to be a chore. In fact, I believe learning is one of the coolest aspects of life -- it just takes the right approach to make learning exciting. My goal as a tutor is to ensure students meet their short- and long-term goals while developing lifelong, self-sustainable skills in navigating all aspects of the English language. From reading to writing to grammar, I want students to reach a level of comfort in the English language that allows them to freely accomplish their goals.Ultimately, I want students to look forward to their tutoring sessions. While that might seem like a stretch to some, I have seen first-hand how invigorating and liberating it can be to get over the hump in all aspects of English.I graduated from Emerson College in 2012 with a BA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing. While there, I helped countless peers get past their reading and writing issues through fun tutoring sessions. Outside of writing, I work as an SEO analyst for a medical company in Massachusetts. By night, I'm a huge fitness and martial arts enthusiast.

Tutoring has been an incredibly enjoyable activity of mine over the course of the last 3-4 years. I appreciate the opportunity to positively impact a young student's academic success, while instilling successful studying habits and fostering a sense of confidence in the classroom for each student. I am in my 4th year of volunteer tutoring at a non-profit organization in Cambridge, MA where I have honed my tutoring skills across a multitude of academic disciplines.I come from a science background having graduated from Villanova University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Bioengineering. After college, I went to work for a Cambridge-based pharmaceutical company in oncology clinical research. After 1 1/2 years at the pharmaceutical company, I realized my passion for medicine and took the next step towards pursuing that dream by enrolling in a graduate program at Boston University School of Medicine. I graduated in May 2015 with a Master of Science in Medical Sciences, and I am currently in the process of applying to medical schools while working full-time in a lab in the Division of Genetics at Harvard Medical School.

I am a recent graduate of Wittenberg University with Bachelor degrees in French and History. I have studied French for 13.5 years, including a year and a half in France; first for a year while I was in high school and for a semester in college. As a high school student I stayed with a host family outside of Paris, where I was able to converse in French on a daily basis. While on my college semester abroad in France, I was certified to a B2 level that means that I am able to teach in France. I also interned with a MIT history professor and researched gothic cathedrals over the last three summers and did field work for her while in France, going to a number of cathedrals to learn about their origins, costs and interviewed church people.I look forward to tutoring you. I enjoy both French and history very much. I have a passion for the language of French and a huge interest in history. I like learning about people long gone and what their world was like during their time. I love French and all things to do with the French culture. I have had some informal tutoring experience. I have tutored an adult student in English when I was in France. He wanted someone with whom to practice the language. He also wanted to learn more English for his buisness. I also tutored a student in Medieval European history since she was struggling and wanted some help in understanding the subject better. She did better after our study sessions. I learned that each student may require a different approach to best learn the subject. So I don't have any set style but rather one that changes to suit the student's needs. My interests outside of academia range among several different things. I enjoy playing video games, card games, board games, and table-top role-playing games. I helped organize the game-playing club at my university for three years. I also enjoy reading a good book. I read all kinds of genres of books. I love traveling and do so whenever I can. I enjoy watching all kinds of movies with my family and friends.

I graduated in May from the University of Massachusetts Amherst having completed an Honors College program and received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics. I have been tutoring students since I was in high school myself in a variety of subjects including Math, Latin, and Writing. I like to focus on any questions the student may have with the material and working on some examples before moving on to work on any assignments. My favorite subject to tutor is math because there is usually a simple way to explain a concept that clears away any confusion. In math, there are many right ways but only one right answer. In my free time I like to spend time with friends, watch movies, read, and bake.
