We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

I helped the student to solve the handouts covering the Midpoints and Points of Concurrency. She had questions about how to determine Incenter, Circumcenter, Centroid and Orthocenter. I went over the definitions with her; so she was able to fill out the missing words for the homework. We solved for the distance between two points, found the indicated measure and found the length of each segment.

We also talked about how to set up and solve word problems. The student was highly motivated and started studying before our session.

Tutoring review by Bill in Bristol, CT
The student and I covered topics from his homework, including but not limited to: plane geometry (identifying vertical angles, same side interior angles, alternate exterior angles, and alternate interior angles for two lines cut by a transversal), finding the angle measures for two parallel lines cut by a transversal and listing the reasons, and some algebra associated with solving problems. The student was very cooperative throughout the session. He needed some guided practice but improved conceptually as the session progressed. He was able to identify that corresponding angles for parallel lines are congruent when finding the angle measures.

Tutoring review by Elnora in Bristol, CT
Today, the student and I reviewed the topics related to the Federal Reserve, its role and connection to monetary policy, and monetary policy actions that are taken to adjust the supply of reserves (including the purchase and sale of government securities, bonds, etc.) This was also connected to the influence of policy upon the federal funds rate, and we also reviewed the concepts related to the demand for reserves. Other topics covered included quantitative easing and the liquidity trap (which takes into consideration how monetary policy may not be effective and the factors influencing this trap). She performed well!
