My name is Kelley and I have dedicated my life to teaching special needs students for the past 20 years. It is my belief that all children can learn with the proper structure, motivation and learning techniques. Customizing lessons to meet the needs of my students is what I am all about. If given the opportunity to work with a student, I know that I can bring out the best in them through interesting lessons and learning styles methods.

I am an experienced social studies and technology teacher, with 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience in grades 6-12 and adult education. I have two masters degrees, one in history (Chicago State University) and another in instructional design (Western Illinois University). I also have my BA in social studies education from Knox College. I have a passion for teaching and have been in online education specifically since 2013, working across all fields in the social sciences as well as general test preparation.

As a child, I always had an interest in mathematics. I am very proficient in elementary math up to calculus 3. I have a passion for helping people understand mathematics. I am easy to understand, fun to work with and can relate to those who don't understand math by taking the time figuring out their fear and weaknesses in math.

My goal is to both challenge and reward myself tutoring young minds in the maths and sciences. By doing so I believe they will have a better opportunity of success of today's evolving world. From Chicago to Asia, and 8 combined years, I have gained both personal and professional satisfaction in the process. My specialties include mathematics, essay and research writing, biology, as well as teaching students the various test taking skills. I find great pleasure knowing that my experience can be applied to assisting others in their academic achievements, and consequently their success as productive citizens. I believe that learning, via both the classroom and exposure is a lifelong process, and tutoring brings me closer to that belief!

I recently retired from full-time work. I am a state-certified teacher with eight years of experience in the classroom with students in grades 6 through 12. I have five years of experience as a one-on-one tutor of math and physics for grades 6 -12, AP, ACT and SAT. I obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering and another bachelor's degree in education in the United Kingdom. I have lived for many years in the USA where I obtained my master's degree in special education. My subjects are math, physics, general science, and special education. I particularly enjoy tutoring students who need extra help to keep pace. My style is relaxed, friendly, and caring.

I am a life science teacher at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have been teaching for 25 years (2 in the Chicagoland area and 23 in my native state) and have enjoyed it immensely. I enjoy fitness activities, DIY projects and spending time with my family and our three dogs. I am a mother of three college aged children and have found myself with some available time on my hands and am looking for a rewarding challenge. I am very comfortable working remotely and I would like to reach out and assist other students by supporting their science education. Because of my comfort level with general education as well as special education high school students, I feel that I would be an asset to your tutoring team!

I have a master's degree in mathematics and over a decade of in person classroom teaching. I also have a bachelor of science degree with over a years course work in both biology and chemistry. I have hands on experience in these fields from working in both biology and chemistry laboratory settings. I worked as administrator over a home school, teaching students from Kindergarten thru 12 grade, in math, science, and language arts and developing curricular materials. I have found from my teaching experiences that students learn best from active participation in the learning process, and are often encouraged with material that is practical and meaningful. My main goal in working with students who are having problems with a particular subject matter is to simplify the material as much as needed so that a student will get to the root of their difficulties and work from there to obtain a strong foundation of the subject material. I am not rigid in my approach. If a particular manner of subject presentation is not helping a student, I will use a different method to facilitate the learning process.

As a Tutor, my motto has always been, "Every student is special and unique in their own way." Therefore, each student learns differently and at their own pace and because of this I sometimes use special education resources to work with some struggling students. I believe every student is a winner!! In the past, as a Tutor for No Child Left Behind Program, I specialized in working with students struggling with phonics or other aspects of reading or comprehension. I reminded them how they can be motivated and conquer any lesson concept. I would always tell them to say like the Little Engine, trying to accomplish going up and over the hill, "I think I Can, I Know I Can." I learned through the years that if a student is motivated and encouraged, they can succeed and the student will try even harder.

Hello! I am a retired teacher, with over 30 years experience in teaching elementary education with expertise in Reading. With a Masters in Teaching Reading and a National Board Certification in Literacy, I am highly qualified and certified in AZ to teach reading. I specialize in diagnostic assessments and creating lessons at each child's instructional reading level based on their needs.

As a graduate from the Professional and Technical Writing Program at Chicago State University, I have become an expert in all aspects of writing and English. While at Chicago State University, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in English, with a specialization in Creative Writing.My education after graduate school consists of a Post-Masters Certificate in Education, focusing on College Teaching. Also, I am expected to graduate in August of 2016 with a PhD in Education and Professional Studies from Capella University.Currently, I hold two state certifications in education: a Language Arts/English teaching license for 5th-12th grade from Indiana and a Substitute Teaching license for K-12th grade students issued by Illinois. I've also successfully passed the Praxis II content area exam for English, Language, and Literature.I have three years of teaching experience, one at the collegiate level and two at the secondary level. I tutor all areas of English and Writing, Social Studies, and Test Preparation. My favorite subject to tutor is Reading. I am intrinsically motivated in my career, and I receive the most satisfaction when students that I serve exhibit growth. Not only do I tutor students, I build confidence in them and motivate them to reach new heights. Students are encouraged to set educational goals, and we execute them together.Outside of work, I am a member of the PhD Sisters Group at Capella University. I enjoy writing poetry, short-stories, and touring the world.

I am a psychology major who has always loved and excelled at math and english related course work. I have been working with a wide range of learners over the years. This has equipped me with the skills to adjust and adapt the ways that information is retained across courses. Many students and learners enjoy my 'relatable' approach to subjects as I try to incorporate real world scenarios when addressing tasks. Practice makes perfect!

I am a graduate of Chicago State University with a degree in Biological Sciences. I was a Certified Substitute Teacher for over five years. I have also tutored grade levels 2nd through 12th in Reading, Math and Language Arts. My preferred demographic are grades 2nd through 4th. I have worked for highly recognized professional Education platforms such as, Kaplan and Literacy Mid-South. I am most passionate about Reading. Reading comprehension is the fundamental skill that is required to succeed in life, personally and professionally. It is the driving force that propels one to reach their highest potential.
