Greetings, my name is Karthik! My undergraduate major was math and physics through Northeastern University, and I currently am working on a master's in medical physics at the University of Kentucky. Both have required a great deal of self-study, and my penchant for self-motivated learning was kick started by an experience I had in middle school. It was a 3-week summer program called VAMPY within which I learned to self-study on account of the math classes consisting primarily of studying out of a textbook, working problems, and taking exams with the professors and TAs only there to facilitate our learning but not to lecture or assign work outside of the exams. I did Algebra 2 the first time and Calculus 1 & 2 the second time, after which I was distinctly prepared to tackle more advanced material (e.g., linear algebra, real analysis, topology, and quantum mechanics). Before I ever started tutoring formally, it was not uncommon for peers to remark that I taught better than the teacher whenever I helped them with their work.I started tutoring formally in undergrad via a mix of online tutoring and university sponsored peer tutoring, later taking on responsibilities as a student grader and TA. I was the president of the math club and vice president of our chapter of the Society of Physics Students. While at first I was prone to lecturing due to my assumption that others found theory as elucidating as I, my sessions are now dominated by working through problems provided by either the student or me. Also software visualization is a boon whenever my drawing skills don't pass muster. Ultimately, my purpose is to cultivate disciplined learning and excellence in STEM, whether that be for a class or purely out of curiosity/passion, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you think I can help you achieve your goals.

You will get dedicated and committed sessions from me, with friendly communication and organized lessons. If virtual learning and the effects of missing school due to COVID have not been the most kind to your child, I can help fill the gap. I have been in the education field in some capacity for over 30 years. I am a mother of 7 children, all of whom I've homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. I have a background in both Mathematics and other Natural Science fields and am both willing and comfortable teaching either of these subjects. Furthermore, I have studied and taken the SAT and MCAT, and would be happy to help others who want to take these tests. My prior teaching experience includes mentoring in both group and one-on-one settings. While most of my teaching has been done with my students of similar age, I would be comfortable with younger students as well, having been an older sibling for most of my life. From personal experience from the point of view of both a teacher and a student, learning is not always a straightforward process. Teaching plans should be compatible with individual students, taking into account their goals, needs, and learning styles. For example, I personally like to incorporate secondary lines of reasoning. When learning words, I look at roots, when learning theorems, I study proofs, and when learning mechanisms, I examine comparable systems. In addition, I am a rather visual learner, and favor illustrations such as graphs, tables, and diagrams as learning tools.Besides working as a tutor, I enjoy watching and playing sports, especially football, basketball, and soccer. I enjoy cooking and would like to improve both the quality of food I produce and the repertoire of dishes I can make. I have interests in other subjects, such as geography, history, and architecture. Various other hobbies include watching TV shows, walking around, listening to music, and playing video games.

I am passionate about science (and have a great understanding as I am now working on my third science degree) and passionate about helping other students succeed! Education is a journey, but it pushes us to new levels and I cannot wait to help you achieve your goals

I attended school at University of California, Los Angeles and I have lived most of my life in LA. I enjoy teaching both Math and Physics. Every time that I step into the classroom I become energized even if I am very tired. My enthusiasm and energy are very contagious, and the students leave behind their negative attitudes towards the subjects and get engaged in learning them. At the end, the students come out with a very positive experience after taking the classes. When I am not teaching, I am out playing soccer, hiking, or fishing.

I am a Yale University graduate with over seven years of tutoring experience with children and adults of all ages, specializing in writing, reading, English, college prep, and working with differently-abled learners. As a writer and entrepreneur, I have tutored since high school because it is something I truly enjoy. I approach tutoring with patience, and with finding a motivation to learn and excel that is specific to each student. With young adults and older learners, I approach each skill with purpose in reaching their individual goals and dreams, and with younger learners it is all personalize-practice-reward, working with parents and mentors to understand their needs and facilitate their individual learning and success. I'd love to hear from you and discuss how we can make the most out of our time together!

I've always believed in the saying " having a purpose is the difference between making a living and making a life." I have been working in the Financial Industry for Thirteen years, I have completed my Bachelors in Law and Society. I initially chose Law because I have always wanted to embark on a career path where I can make a difference. My passion for service and my purpose in making a difference was what led me to the field of study in law.I have spent the past 13 years working in Corporate America as an Administrative Assistant supporting senior managers booking travel, managing calendars etc. Although I love my job I always feel I wanted to do more, I felt I wasn't making much of an impact and contributing to society. Working with senior managers has helped me to become a well rounded individual but something was missing.I've always looked for ways I can do more and fulfill my purpose by making a difference. I have a passion for learning and as a result I have always looked for ways to increase my knowledge. I have volunteered with organisations such as LIU school of continuing Ed. where I use my weekends to tutor students learning English I have also volunteered at 1199 Adult Learning Center each time I completed a class I would feel so fulfilled I felt I was making a difference and this made me happy. I have also completed a TESOL program during the time I was tutoring to help me be better equipped to assist the students. I have also traveled to Tanzania numerous times and found the Swahili language interesting as well as the people.Education is very important to me and this is the reason I have decided to enroll in the World Language Teacher Graduate Certificate Program. I do believe that shaping minds from a young age is essential to how one's future is shaped. The youth are the future training young people at an early age by giving them the tools to succeed and educating them will boost their confidence and give them a better quality of life and also prepare them to become leaders.Thank you.
