I am a life long learner, a passionate educator, native speaker of English, bilingual in Spanish and always on the look out for my next new favorite book. My philosophy on learning is that it should be fun! Of course, I work hard with my students, but when we are having fun, I see the learning is effortless, endless, and the student success level in my classroom soars!

I am a high school Spanish Teacher of 9 years who lived in Spain. I currently teach in a bilingual kindergarten class. I have taught beginning Spanish to advanced levels and created the AP curriculum for my former school. I got engaged in Puerto Rico and married in Mexico. I am also a certified Reading Specialist. I hope to eventually pursue a doctorate and advanced research into the complex and changing intersections between literacy and technology. To me, this is the most practical and relevant area that I can focus on, and it also happens to fit my passions and my strengths. I love to write, and I love to teach writing because of what it helps me learn about my students and about writing itself.

I am an Instructional Coach for grades Kindergarten - 2nd. I am a strong believer that knowledge is power and I am a life time learner. I have a Bachelors Degree from Governors State University in General Studies, a Masters Degree from Governors State University in Urban Teacher Education, as well as, a Masters Degree in Reading with a Reading Specialist certification from Olivet Nazarene University.
