About Me

I'm passionate about learning. I was fortunate to have great teachers at the University of Chicago in my graduate education, and at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in my undergraduate education. I try to relate whatever subject I am tutoring to the real world. Learning is a lot easier and fun if students see the relevance to their lives. I am a very patient person, and I believe that making mistakes is often when the most learning occurs. Specific to ACT tutoring, I use a variety of books, including The Complete Guide to ACT Reading and the Ultimate Guide to the Math ACT.Outside of tutoring, I am the director of counseling services at an agency that serves the homeless, where I spend most of my time training and teaching staff and clients. I believe service to others is one of the highest callings, and want to pay my success forward. For fun, I like to read, play soccer, chill out with a good movie or Netflix, and spend time with my son.
